You know... A song so special and meaningful to you that you went to war to it, turned to it when you needed to feel something, or that simply made your day a little better when nothing else would.

You don't have to keep liking it like that, but it has to have meant something to you at some point (bonus points if you picked it during teenhood).

Mine was probably "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.

It ran electricity through my body and made me want to act immediately. I can't really put a number to that, only rate its effectiveness as "very high".

Honorable mentions to: "All-Star" by Smash Mouth, "Ironic" by Alanis Morrissey, "It's Tricky" by Run DMC, "Maria" by Blondie, "In This Life" by Delta Goodrem, "Luka" by Suzanne Vega, "Ice Queen" by Within Temptation, "Entre Tu Y Mil Mares" by Laura Pausini and "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi. They were all excellent in their own ways, just not quite the way I wanted them to.

Aww man, the songs I like to listen regarding this are so political can't share them due to forum rules here lol I'll share this instead:

This song is my "battery" when I need energy. Never fails to get me amped.

Well in my teens I distinctly remember putting this on when I was going serious in a game for a boss fight or something. I have an oddly specific memory of being at a friends house trying to beat the Ratchet and Clank final battle arena level in I think Going Commando, then putting in my earbuds to listen to this like a really cringe person. I was very cringe.

I don't really have an equivalent anymore nowadays. Maybe First Time or Stay in Shadow by Finger Eleven, or something by the Deftones?

I am cringe but I am free

RWBY's This life is mine got me through basic training in the Navy when no one else supported me, Mirror Mirror to a lesser extent.
If you ever catch me posting an unhealthy amount rage aimed at RWBY it's because the show meant a lot to me and the idiots who inherited it open disrespect for the audience makes my blood boil.

During my divorce, well. Masayoshi Oishi Uni-verse.
I hate the idea that "X media saved my life" but my exposure to Gridman & Dynazenon was the only thing that has ever effortlessly cut through decades of depression and repression lol
Made me feel like I deserved happiness, not just existing to do what others expect of me.

That aren't exactly hype war songs. But they helped me through physical & emotional hardship.
