What video game saga do you think would be a success if it had a movie?

Sonic and Mortal Kombat have already proved you wrong along with several movies that are built around video game concepts such as Hardcore Henry, Edge of Tomorrow, Scott Pilgrim, and Boss Level.

Dang, seeing MP always triggers me to finish it once more. Metroid is my fave game ever along with botw/totk and Monster Hunter series.i often at least finish once of metroid, annually. I think i will play it before MP4

Well, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 got the film license even before the game released. And we already got great receptions for Fallout and Twisted Metal TV series so movies wouldn't be outta the question as well.
While I don't think Japanese videogame movie adaptations were any good so far, I'd like to see them take a shot on Metroid or Bayonetta, they'll probably gonna get accepted well globally.

Metroid is so easy. Dark scifi where the MC is in a suit the entire time so CG is easy.

It's not negative, it's realistic. "Dark scifi where the MC is in a suit the entire time" is a bit too naive given the franchise and the way movies work. There's zero chance they would not attempt to sexualize the hell out of Samus and have her run around out of the armor in an attempt to get casuals to watch it. But in a safe way your kids could also watch, since I doubt Nintendo would ever go for any like "Samus fights a Metroid barehanded while talking a shower" scenes.

In the 90s I once caught a TV series while zapping on tv titled "Maniac Mansion". Couldn't believe my luck!

Then after a few minutes I switched channel seeing how irrelevant it was to the game and sci-fi humour.

yeah i have no idea what they were thinking with that one. You'd think with LucasArts it'd be more faithful. But it's some canadian show that goes off and does it's own thing. None of the Eddisons from the game are in the show. None of the teenagers either. Just weird. It could have been called something totally different and it would have made just as much sense.

Contra could be easily adapted into a movie if it was made into a B-movie. Contra is pretty much Commando mixed with Predator and Alien.

Sexualize Samus? Doubtful. Most movie directors are afraid to sexualize women these days.
