Yes, y'all call it Miku. I've seen it around. I've never the anime or game it comes from posted anywhere though.

She's a Vocaloid, a sort of program you can tune to sing and make music with, with a character tied to it that does concerts and has games and stuff. A Virtual Idol is the term. She's pretty much a blank slate that a creator or artist can mold into whatever they need her to be. Her presence is mostly online with NicoNico Douga and Youtube uploads from musicians that use her.

She's a humanoid piano, in laymen's terms. Much of the love stems from the artists that have used her over the years.

Oh hell, I wasn't even close! I was picturing Touhou and the way there's a whole indie game fandom I know nothing about.

There is not possibly enough space in the world for this so can I just ask to help narrow it down, do you mean like, hypothetically speaking do I just find them attractive and would love to date them, or do you mean like, hypothetically speaking would I be able to actually ask them out if they were real?

Because saying something like "I would ask out the hot ninja girl (unrealistic, i'd probably piss myself if she flirted back)" and "I would ask out the random townsperson npc i've found cute for 20 years (still shy but reasonable)" are two huge differences

Miku is basically a text to speech bot but fancier and their primary purpose is to sing songs.
There are others, they all have different voices.
For example, Megurine Luka is a vocaloid who's voice is sampled from popular voice actress Yuu Asakawa (this was the first one to support both English and Japanese output)
Miku's voice is sampled from Saki Fujita.

There are lots and lots of other characters from Vocaloid though, but Miku is arguably the most popular one.

I mean, I wouldn't be repping the character without Wowaka, Doriko, Deco*27, Utsu-P, Kariki Bear, Pinocchio P, Mitchie M, and so on. I love the shit out of her, but the artists made her.

It's a balmy 11°C, just after lunch, and I'm gonna get some shopping done and get back home so I can continue getting my arse kicked on Chakan.

I'll cover the second round and then later maybe we could grab a beer and continue our conversation during a walk through this warm summer evening, see where we end up? A couple friends mentioned they were going to hang out in the park later, for example.

Perfect-a-mundo!
We'll squad up, and blast some rowdy tunes (someone'll have a speaker I'm sure) down the park until we fancy a change of scenery. Maybe then we can try parkour our way to some lesser seen sights in the area.
