I'm curious what is your PC emulator like Ms-Dos Windows 98 Window Xp

I already had Ms-Dox Box but it outdated this why I asking what emulator did you use.

I use an HP Pavilion 6535 Desktop, has a 466 MHz Celeron, a massive 256 MB of 100 MHz PC100 RAM, a whopping 80 GB spinning Rust HDD, and runs Windows 98 SE2.

But that's not what you are asking. I use DOS-Box X when I don't feel like waiting for the HP to boot up in 20 minutes. (I am kidding, but the damn thing does boot slow.)

I never mess with DOSBOX or other older Windows VM. If I want to run an older game, I'll just search for patches on PCgamingwiki or GOG releases that already have DOSBOX integrated.

I used a lot of those older systems back in the day to know how awful they were to handle, there's no way I'm going back to that era unless it's the only option.

That's fine and well, but not every game has a modern fix. And sometimes it's nice to hear the bleeps and bloops from DOSBox. Or, in my case an old-ass came over on the Mayflower PC.

Basilisk II, Sheepshaver, Oracle Virtual Box for Windows XP, DOSBox, ScummVM, Infinite Mac for everything else that can't run in Basilisk II or Sheepshaver, i think that's it for me. Oh I just installed a Java emulator this afternoon to play Monkey Shines again! :D

I have Dosbox Setup very nicely, with Drives and Windows 3.11.

There is also a Driver that allows a relatively high Resolution for Windows 3.11 with Colors, the Stock one only allows it in Black and White.
But that is on another Page, have to look it up.

For Win 9x Stuff i have a small Thin Client and 86box, but to be honest, most Games just work fine on 10.

I find DOSBox works for the vast majority of things DOS wise to be honest. Either drag the .exe or .bat file onto the shortcut, or create a shortcut that uses it and I've found 90% of the time with games I've tried it's worked pretty much straight away.

There are however a few games where you need to mess with settings to get it working (Discworld comes to mind), and some people prefer 86box or PCem because you can customise a lot more with the hardware configuration, as well as various different operating systems.

Shoutout though to eXoDOS for people who want more of an all in one solution to DOS games - just buy a spare HDD is all.

I've also used DGVoodoo with some earlier Windows games that are 3DFX compatible, and that's sometimes made 98 era games playable natively on Windows 10 that were not previously possible to run.

They certainly do. There's one with the initials CC, and he does some fantastic work like that. Definitely use some of that stuff, it's lovingly made and he's usually pretty responsive to requests for support.

I used to love playing snes games on the Zsnes. the only thing it has going for it that it's the only emulator that has he coolest interface in my opinion.

one reason pcem is more demanding compared to dosbox
