What movie would you say is a must see to someone who doesn't watch movies

Dude I'm that guy who doesn't watch movies, because honestly existence of movies only have the purpose of satisfying movie enjoyers with visuals and generic BS. However until I heard about this movie I never thought a movie can be meaningful and just beyond watching something for simple "fun":

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093 (The Matrix)
The Matrix is excellent. Have you watched any since The Matrix that have also stood out to you for being meaningful, and not just throw-away entertainment? I think there's loads like that out there if you go looking
- Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
I've watched a lot of films designed to be horrifying and disturbing, but Fire Walk with Me, especially when compared tonally to the TV show, is so incredibly disturbing, and really damn sad.

Twin Peaks = One of the best franchises ever.

Honestly: Nope because I hate watching and there was no other movie that would make me just sit down and watch most of it lol. When I watch I always skip boring parts and Matrix 1 prevent me from even blinking!!! lolol. I could even watch the Godfather series just because my buddies forced me and I was dying watching lol. I appreciate what the movies about and I like the stuff the movies have but then they are too drag to watch.

I like some movies for "meme" scenes they have but I couldn't find any other movie that all of it worths watching per se. Usually some scenes are fun and throw rest of the movie into rubbish bin lol.

However for example if Donnie Darko wasn't boring it would be the 2nd example to give regarding this topic but the movie had better be a book instead.

Since no one has said it yet I'm going to recommend Lawrence of Arabia.

  • Herbie Rides Again (1974)
  • Herbie Goes Bananas (1980)
Since I don’t know the titles in English, I had to ask an AI to translate them for me. Anyway, these are movies I like and still watch on VHS.

For those who haven’t seen them, I recommend watching these movies.

You want to start them with something that isnt 2 or 3 hours long for sure. 90s comedies are pretty decent. funny stuff like american pie the first 3 are fun to put an afternoon in. I like the pierce brosnan 007 films as well for a bit of action. You dont want to hand this person something too gritty or sad if its their first time watching so i recommend Men in Black 1 and 2 there as well if they dont mind silly stuff.

I like a lot of over the top action movies, but for someone new to cinema I'd probably pick some movies that are a bit more grounded in reality with stories and characters that are easy to follow and get invested in. These are some good choices IMO
