So what Movie would your recommend someone who never watched a movie or is just not interested in movies in general,so is there a movie that he must at least watch once in his life according to your opinion a must see so to say.
So what are your not just good movies but pretty much a must see in your opinion ?
I am also not revering to myself here as I watched plenty of movies in my lifetime but I also know there are people who have little to no interest in movies or just watch movies quite rarely and this thread is dedicated to such people what you would recommend them to either get them into Movies or at least say they must try this one at least once.

Zombieland, because it's both split-your-sides fun and VERY well-done. I usually think that all-star casts are BS and a waste of money for these sorts of flicks, but this one just rocks and benefits enormously from its leads.

It's just a good time!

I'd also recommend both Janie Jones and Wildlike for those looking for indie awesomeness.

It's certainly no Citizen Kane, it's not even particularly good, but everyone I know, even the ones I know who don't watch too many movies (like myself), will still understand any reference from kung pow. A must-see in its own little way.

I myself probably would
Recommend either Spirited away (Chihiros Reise ins Zauberland in German) or Castle in the Sky
otherwise for non Amime I would say the classics like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars the Original Trilogy.
otherwise
A Nightmare before Christmas.
I also would say Equilbrium was great and a good watch but apparently it flopped.

It's a bit of a cliché, and I'm sure there are more intellectual answers, but I would still say
The Shawshank Redemption
is a film everyone should see once.
I does sound quite Interesting but my brain won't tell me if I watched it already maybe its been to long and probably because of the localized name
In German the Movie title is Die Verurteilten wich doesn't have anything to do with the original title as its translated to the judged.Anyway I probably should rewatch it again if I already watched it.

And naturally in Germany we can't forget the large FSK symbol who ruins the cover on it.

That's some cool trivia. To Be Judged is a fitting name also, but yeah it's a re-telling of a Stephen King short story, by Frank Darabont who did Season 1 & 2 of The Walking Dead. Darabont made another of the best Stephen King adaptations with The Green Mile.
Tbf, I'm a big King fan, so I may be biased, but I do consider The Shawshank Redemption & The Green Mile must-see viewing.

Oh and that German age rating logo covers most of the art on my copies of the Back to the Future DVD's xD

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - practically my platonic ideal of an approachable popcorn flick.

Nothing overly grandiose or complex that might put someone off that's not into movies and just a really damn tightly written good time.

That movie is one of my favourite movies from Morgan Freeman. I hope this man never dies :(

The movie I choose is Schindler's List, my favourite western movie of all times. Every single time I watch it I end crying like I lost my will to live.

Pretty Baby starring Brooke Shields, so at least then youll have an excuse for never watching movies. Seriously, what the hell was going on back then

Snatch (Guy Ritchie, 2000) is so unimaginably funny that my entire body was hurting when I stopped laughing. Recommended for both friends and enemies. Kung Pow had a similar effect.
Beyond that, The Princess Bride and the old Indiana Jones movies are something that'll satisfy everyone.
For horror, try The Thing and Videodrome.
For action, you can't go wrong with any Schwarzenegger movie, but Predator and Total Recall take the cake for me. Also consider The Raid (and The Raid 2) and Oldboy.

....and Oldboy.
When I finished reading your post I spent the next 10 seconds saying out loud to myself how sick of a film Oldboy is, what a shout that is. Predator is also one of my favourite action films (though in recent years I've come to appreciate Alien even more so), likewise John Carpenter's The Thing is one of the best body horror films ever. I'll also add Phonebooth, a tight sub-90 min thriller that doesn't waste a second once the drama kicks off.
Also, people often cite The Godfather as the pinnacle of the gangster genre, and whilst it is a phenomenal film, I believe that honour should go to Once Upon a Time in America, (uncut version only). OuaTiA has the best and most brutal use of an intermission ever (and in general I think there should be more intermissions in films over 2 hours long).

Less than Zero with Andrew McCarthy and Robert Downey Junior.... as a junkie ( you never really stop being one) that film makes me cry my eyes out thinking about all the bad shit i did and the inevitable outcome of my bad choices... plus it has a banging 80's/ 90's soundtrack.... or Weekend at Bernie's and Short Circuit 2.... or uh..... Blade Runner... or To Live, a Chinese film about a family trying to make it during the oncoming Communist Party takeover of China... wait... i need a cigarette

Dude I'm that guy who doesn't watch movies, because honestly existence of movies only have the purpose of satisfying movie enjoyers with visuals and generic BS. However until I heard about this movie I never thought a movie can be meaningful and just beyond watching something for simple "fun":

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133093 (The Matrix)

I say only this movie worths watching even if you really hate movies. IDK how many times I rewatched this movie lol.

oi! dont Snatch!... or.... "in the quiet words of the Virgin Mary... Come again?"

"House"

A batshit crazy 1977 Japanese horror comedy film, it was originally going to be a Japanese version of "Jaws", until Toho went absolutely off the rails and Japanified the script until it became this one-of-a-kind treasure.
I'm not saying it's a 10/10 movie as far as content quality is concerned, but it's a 10/10 from a uniqueness standpoint.

If you want movies that are simply high quality, there's:
- The Godfather I + II
- Seven Samurai
- Woman in the Dunes
- The Last Picture Show
- Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
- Blade Runner
- Casablanca
- The Thing
- Amélie
- Come and See
- Perfect Blue
- The Wailing

I could go on forever.

Off the top of my head:
Forrest Gump, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Lord of the Rings, West Side Story (any version, I prefer the 2021 one), Fantasia and Spirited Away.

These are films that I've sort of went "I want to show this to everyone" after watching them.
