What is your Second Sony Console? ~ Cuál es tu Segunda Consola de Sony?

After my aunt gave me a PlayStation as a birthday gift, in 2001 or 2002 I think, I buy the PS2 (Fat Version) Legaia 2, Armored Core 3, Kingdom Hearts, Evergrace, Mystic Heroes and Final Fantasy X. These are free games when you purchased buying PS2.

That was a great promotion for the time if you bought the PS2.

PS2 (PAL) fat version. A few years after release, bought it on special from Toys R Us. My first games were Soul Calibur 2 and Final Fantasy X.

Though years later in 2014 I also bought a modded PS2 (NTSC) Japanese slim version in Thailand. Bought it in a market called Saphan Lek, which now no longer exists, but was filled with stores of copied games, DVD's and console repair and sales stores.

I also bought an RGB Scart cable for my PS2 slim which dramatically improved the picture quality on my HDTV.

Compared to composite cables, it looks like an HD upscaled version in comparison, especially since the composite cables make the picture look especially blurry on an HDTV and far worse than a CRT television. Though with the RGB Scart cable, the picture looked great.

Another thing I noticed was the difference in speed compared to the PAL console, I had been aware of these differences on prior consoles but had mostly used NTSC and never directly compared them. But with the Soul Calibur games and FFX the difference was immediately noticeable.

Thank you for telling your whole story of how you got the PS2 from Sony.

With those 2 PS1 models both the Fat and the Slim you have the complete collection of the PS1.
But nowhere near the full library or range of accessories, but I did have a Gameshark which I used to hack many games.

Both the PS1 and PS2 are legendary Sony consoles, especially the Fat (Standard/Vanilla) models.
Yup, I've always had a soft spot for OG Fat console models. I understand the appeal of Slim models, but I like mine to be BIG
