hey, i'm playing ace attorney's franchise, and while I was playing it, the idea had arisen about what his opinion of the franchise.
and well, that is
I wanted to know your opinions on this franchise.

I think it's awesome, I played it since I was a kid and even then before that I watched my dad play it.

I definitely think the original trilogy is peak while Great Ace Attorney is just as peak while the rest is ranging.
I haven't finished Investigations yet so I won't comment on those but the latter Trilogy is... mixed. Apollo Justice imo was good because it was doing something different and whatnot but then the next 2 just crap on that and bring Wright back because... why not.

Either way series is fun and even at its lowest it's still really good.

I think it's very unique and also quite interesting, but it just didn't grab me. Not my thing, really.

I've never played them and can tell I'm missing out! I really need to get around to playing the Ace Attorney series, since I hear nothing but great things about it.

Trials & Tribulations is one of the best, if not the best ending ever.

I don't really have much to say other than that I love the setting and how zany the cases get sometimes so here's my little contribution to the thread.

I quite enjoy Ace Attorney as a whole. I rate the 5 main entries, the two prequels and Edgerworth's spinoffs on generally equal grounds (though the quality obviously dips in places, in my opinion).

The weakest link has to be the Apollo games: I personally find him unlikable and just filled with that shonen protagonist aura that I've come to loathe. His sidekick (no name reveals to avoid spoilers here) makes things better, though.

I think Ace Attorney is a pretty cool guy. Puts people away and doesn't afraid of anything

Well, this made me laugh at an inappropriately loud decibel level, I'll have you know.

I love ace attorney!

It is one of the iconic series of the Nintendo DS. It is worth playing the main trilogy. I didn't love the Apollo games or the Miles Edgeworth cases, but they not the worst thing ever.

I love this series. It’s the only Visual Novel style game I’ve played, any one have any similar recommendations?

I once never like visual novels, but after playing them, Ace Attorney games has been my favorites
It’s what got me into them too. It was practically my first exposure to it back in 2011.

Love the original series like all of you do, but I actually prefer the Investigations spin-offs by quite a fair amount. Edgeworth is a really cool protagonist — you don’t get many stuffy, stern, proper gentlemen as player characters, and I had a lot of fun seeing his reactions to all the silly situations those games put him in. I’d totally be up for another one, if they ever wanted to do it. My high school also had every volume of the manga, which attracted girls like nothing else (they wanted to have intercourse with either Phoenix or Miles). I read it too, and it was a pretty good adaption!

The anime series SUCKS by the way, I watched it when it came out and it was extremely cheap and far inferior to both the games and the manga. Nice OP/ED songs, though!

OH AND ALSO, I absolutely hated the crossover this series did with Professor Layton. Whoever decided to make that game a freaking ISEKAI STORY needs to have their oxygen privileges revoked. It should have been set in the modern world so both characters could experience culture shock from their opposite’s countries.

Pound for pound, I much prefer the Edgeworth games too. Capcom and Shu Takumi are nuts for not making at least one more.

Hey I love ‘em too. I think they’re a bit underrated.

Shu unfortunately stopped writing ace attorney after Apollo. The edgeworth and 3DS games were handheld by Yamazaki. Great ace attorney did have Shu return though but prior to that he was uninvolved.

After Apollo huh... yeah, I can see that.

In a vaguely related note, Yamazaki definitely gets undercredited for his status as a co-creator. The fact he wrote four full fledged ace attorney titles with practically zero input from Shu is no small feat, not to mention they’re much longer entries in a series that was already not exactly light on dialogue haha.

I've only tried one, a prequel I think? It was interwar period, I want to say, and Herlock Sholmes ambushed my protagonist on a steam ship.

Pretty good! I can see why people enjoy them.
