We are often asked "what is your favorite song?" to which we pick our brains to recall just one song we fell strongly about for whatever reason. Whether we just like the score or we feel the text speaks to us and our values.

What if, however, you were asked to pick out just up to 10 sec of a single song or OST to represent your heart?

For me a candidate could be Sonic Crossworlds - Water Palace from 0:08 to 0:18. Not only did this passage immediately stick out to me when I first played the stage and had me totally mesmorized for a moment, but the track is called "WATER temple", and I have always been attracted to water for its smooth elegance. I prefer the chill of water over the heat of fire, and I prefer rain over sunny days. In Pokémon I always go for the water types. And in games like Kingdom Hearts (namely the opening) water plays a huge role of symbolism; like how Riku stands in water and a tidal wave creeps up on him, and how Sora falls into said water to then land on the Heart Station of Snow White.

Considering my brain tells me my favourite song is a near 13 minute epic... That's the third and final act of a 31 minute trio of songs.

It's probably Sora, especially on the very rare occasions I encounter it being played in the wild I always feel things:

The warble, the guitar, the piano "responding". 10 seconds does it absolutely no justice, but this part is just incredible.

Only an interval of 10 seconds from a song? that's oddly specific, I have no such thing. I can tell some specific songs, such as the intro music from Chrono Trigger, Green Greens from Kirby or Venerable Forest from Star Ocean 2. Each one in its style define the contrast of the type of music I like in a videogame.

I never really thought about that before. I think it would need to be an otherworldly guitar solo that feels like a deep and emotional reflection on life. Any part of this song would probably work
