Both Mario games on the Wii are great games, especially Super Mario Galaxy, which is incredible along with the sequel.

yeah, i 202% the game on christmas break when i got it, and i think about a week later i beat super paper mario. i haven't played the sequel yet.

it's not a guarantee that everyone got that game with their wii.
i got it with my nintendo wii, but i always thought of it as a demo to show off what the wii is capable of before you start playing the other games that you would have gotten alongside it on your birthday or christmas.

Wii Sports. I played it for the first time over at a friends house a year after release.
I have never owned a Wii or Wii U, and only played Wii's belonging to friends or family when they were new. I never found out that the Wii U had existed until just before the launch of the NX/Switch.

I understand your story about the game friend.

some people get their nintendo wiis second hand. either at a thrift store, a used game store, yard sale or from a family or friend. you are not guaranteed to get the game included with your wii.
and some people skip the step of owning a wii and go straight to the dolphin emulator, which does not come bundled with it.
and since some time has passed since my post and this one; i did some thinking in the background.
technically, what your first gamecube game was, is your first wii game.
the reasoning behind that? many times over the years, i have heard and read that the wii is just an overclocked and modded gamecube. it's also been phrased as 2 gamecubes glued together. that holds out from what i can tell from playing the wii for many years.
so, for all intents and purposes, everyone in this thread is wrong; including me and you.

Mine was a second hand one, already homebrewed, the game that came was Rayman Ravign Rabbids in physical and in installed i got Super Mario Galaxy

I got Wii Sports with the system, but the first one I bought as a stand alone game was Dragon Quest Swords.

I've played the Wii Sports once and it looks good, especially if you play with friends, but I haven't played the Dragon Quest Swords one, but it looks good for one.

Super Paper Mario and Smash bros brawl. I got both Rune Factory games which I'm going to during Christmas holiday. I was surprised Frontier was a sequel to first nds game, which i'm conflicted to play again before the wii since it has been more than ten years since I played it.

And they are also great Wii games, especially Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
