I clearly remember getting a Game Boy with Tetris for my 5th or 6th birthday so that would have been mid 90's. Didn't care for Tetris as a kid, but once my parents got me Donkey Kong, I was on the Game Boy constantly.

I think they did it with the intention of avoiding legal problems with the Big N at that time and they had to make Mega Drive/Genesis Controllers style controllers because of that.

A yellow Gameboy Color! Got it with Pokémon Yellow and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Many a night was spent under a lamp before I got the little twisty light add on.

I loved Super Game Boy! I played it even more than my actual Game Boy.
Same thing with the Game Boy Player for Gamecube!

That said, the first Nintendo console I ever played was the SNES, at my grandmother's house.

Yeah! The Super Famicom ~ Super Nintendo Entertainment System is still a great console even for the time.

the SNES but the newer modern version(i think its called NSNES) that lets me install games in it from different consoles.
i dusted off an old CRT exclusively for it and while i havent used it in a while i still do during summer or winter break when i can spend my days playing old jrpgs and shmups.
