What is your First Fighting Video Game?/Cuál es tu Primer Videojuego de Peleas?

Yeah those games played more similar to side scrolling Beat em ups(Like Kung-Fu master) than what we normally associate with modern(post Street fighter) games.
Don't remember seeing the first Street Fighter in the arcades, but World warrior an onwards were all over the place though.
i'm pretty late in the party because video game at the time still relatively pricey in my place. I was playing on my neighbor IIRC. well, until 92 I think, I got my first console. but I think i recall going to arcade before that. I was still elementary back then : ))

Tekken 3 is how I got into fighting games, so it has a extra special place in my heart.
Ah, PS1 era was so great for fighting games:

- Fighting Force 1

- Jackie Chan Stuntmaster

- King of Fighters series

- Shiritsu Justice Gakuen series

Lots of my favourite genre games are on PS1. It was truly a magical machine that only PS2 did keep up in its own context but no other consoles ever could, me sad lol.

Oh! You had the opportunity to play the original version of the game and at the same time the first fighting game in history. 🥊🥊
Well, I'm an oldie, after all... 😅

Yep, the very first Street Fighter: I still own it, with the Atari ST (and all the other games) still perfectly working. 🙂

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, when i was a young kid in the earlys 2000 i got to play the arcade's that where in random bars, nowadays i can never find a arcade machine, in bars or any places, if you get lucky you can find arcade locals in some malls, which they are also dying. : (

Good version of a great game but Capcom went too far with the difficulty in the International Versions although in the Japanese version of the game it is fairer at least. and the same goes for the Hyper Street Fighter II as well.

im gonna be honest, last time i played it, it was when i was i think 10 or 11 and also i was playing against my cousins of my same age so i dont remember the difficulty all that much, so im gonna take your word for it.

also was Hyper SF 2 for arcades? or only console.

HSF2: TAE came out first on PS2 and then in Arcades.

Okay Friend.
It was the first fatal fury only because no one was playing it at the arcade and there was a massive line up for sf2.
I may have played something earlier on c64 but I can't remember

back then distinction between beat-em-ups and fighting games was still blurred but I consider Street Smart more of a fighting game as you have to fight opponents in a closed space with time limit, plus it was the first game with a combo system, albeit simple
