very often 3d animation doesn't look great and is something to be ignored while looking at the better 2d art but one anime completely changed my mind (and soul)

and that is land of the lustrous!!!

3D CGI in anime is really rough especially on its earlier stage during mid to late 90s and up to the early 2000. But now you can see it work seamlessly, one animation studio pushed on its earlier years is GONZO. Their earlier uses of 3D is most commonly done rendering mechanical animations (mechas, vehicles etc.).

ohh yeah mecha is definitely one of the better uses for 3d animation

I really liked Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

I don't really know one way or the other if it used the 3D well, but it was a fun movie and the whole thing being 3D looked so much better than the previous DB movies that failed to convincingly blend 2D with 3D fight scenes.

Studio Trigger.

Seriously, SSSS Gridman, SSSS Dynazenon & Gridman Universe have flawless cg integration.
Trying to show it with out spoilers is difficult so I'll just post the music video for Universe:
Every time you see a Kaiju on screen its 3DCG. It's the same for Promare:
Good luck distinguishing it from 2D, the artstyle blends both together really well.

And obviously the goat is the little MMD Program that could.
No seriously the 2012 Black Rock Shooter anime has better CGI then then Dawn Fall released a decade later:
Not bad for recoloured Hatsune Miku OC

Is there anything else?
Made in Abyss
But made in Abyss casually mogs pretty much everything when it comes to presentation.

At the top of my head, the skating scenes from "Medalist". I was shocked by how great the CG looked.
