While I have also a bias of "I had one" I compared them with friends who had other models, and even had also a 2000 for a while and I say 3000 is still best model. Street was somewhat fun cost reduced model but especially on modded system 3000 gives more with it's intact wifi capability. If I would have even used it, 3000 also has wider TV output options than other models, though again, a very unused feature to most PSP holders in every decade. These days, I make do with a Vita and big enough memory card that it can hold the PSP games I want to play with the vita and homebrew stuff.
I do say, the UMD drive in 1000 screams quality sony engineering while later UMD drives are so flimsy you would not trust them even with your most used password. They do still miraculously work and everything. I do love the fact that just once, we actually had a portable game console that actually had a fkn disc drive and dsic based media and it even made sense for extremely competitive game sizes. Them insane JP's even published 2 UMD games like who tha f-.
