What is the worst SEGA game?

Yeah, back then they advertised games by the number of "megs", meaning megabits. "Mb" wasn't used. For example, the back of the Phantasy Star IV box says "24 megs of role-playing challenge!". But ROM was still very expensive in the late '80s and early '90s, so it took a few years before you started seeing bigger 16-bit games, so the point remains - early Genesis games were still rather small, and SegaNet games were smaller still.
Sega also used Mega Power a few times. Space Harrier on Sega Master System was "Twice the Mega Power" to say that it was 2 megabits

I want to find out what the worst SEGA game is. Half the replies will probably be Sonic 06 lol
lol but nah; that's not even the worst Sonic game. Sonic Labyrinth was way worse even as a concept, let alone a game you would want to play ("Hey guys, how about a Sonic that takes away everything you love about the gameplay? Awesome, right?").

Honestly...most of those SEGA CD FMV titles were a special order of suck - Sewer Shark, Slam City, etc. (Night Trap was OK tho)

I agree.

I just got through with watching a Sega Saturn video and then I remembered

I just wanted to ask. Whose bright idea was it to have the method to speed up be constantly mashing the B button to keep speed. This was kicking my Mario Party PTSD all over that MASSIVE problem.

In Metacritic, the Golden Compass is considered one of the worst games Sega ever published, it has a baffling 26/100 to 41/100.

I never played it, but from what you can see in this gameplay, it looks legit rough.

Yeah, it turned me almost crazy to discover by myself how the speed-walk works in this game.
I think the Sonic!/Camelot guys were just experimenting, being this the first Action RPG they ever did: their previous "Shining" games were Tactical RPG games (which are AMAZING, I love those games, while I really hate and detest the "Fire Emblem" series, which are basically the Nintendo Tactical RPG counterpart... and I don't even know how this is possible ¿?), and Dungeon Crawlers (which I played a lot less, but I found them Very Good).

In any case, Shining Wisdom is not the best game of Shining series... they put a lot more effort doing Shining the Holy Ark and Shining Force III trilogy for Saturn, for sure. But I'm not sure it deserves the worst Sega game... Love its manga boxt-art, though.

Greendog is a classic one XD. Was one of those games it seemed a gem in the magazines in early 90s... but when you play it... meh.

Heavy Nova is... not a real "SEGA" game by itself (not developed or published by Sega, but by Micronet). In fact it is a port of a X68000 original game. Although it was one of the very first games for Mega-CD. So early, as a MCD game... they just ported it into a Genesis Cart format for its release in US, cause the american Sega CD was not even released by then. It is an horrible game, lol.

Yeah Shining Wisdom is a little below average, it's not horrible.

Is there a Sega game that isn't trash?
Honestly I don't know. Doesn't mean there aren't Sega games that I like, but I won't deny they're trash. 😅

This is probably the worst take I've seen on RGT so far...
Sorry! I've been trying this based new idea where I say how I really feel without regards to the consequences. It's liberating AF, but I guess I probably ought to not stomp around like Gaston wearing boots with so many people's feelings lying around. My bad, yo; I'll work on being more sensitive. 👉 😎 👉

You could also work on being less wrong

I'm not
Where does it say that? 🤔

I don't think I'd ever say Sega games in general are trash. Their current era is kinda shaky (I'd really like the Yakuza team to make something arcade style again), but historically I like a lot of Sega's internally developed titles more than Nintendo's at any rate. Most of Nintendo's best titles come from external dev teams they have/had a close relationship with like Rare, HAL, and ironically Camelot (ex-Sega) and Sega in the case of Mario Tennis/Golf and F-Zero GX. I used to like Sony's first party stuff, but they've kind of lost me now that JAPAN got shut down and Santa Monica rebooted God of War so now most of their big games feel like they're made for the broadest general audience possible.

All of them are trash, give Nintendo your money /J

It may be cheating since they are licensed games in a era where "licensed game bad" was a mayority, bit there is a Game Gear Taz-Mania game that plays like if they were trying to make Takeshi's Challenge for Cartoon fans

If games only published by Sega count, probably the SMS version of Strider. Third party games on Sega consoles though? Worst in that case would probably be Sailor Moon Super S on the Saturn or MK3 and Batman Forever on the Game Gear. As much as I love Sailor Moon, the Game Gear and the Sega Saturn, those games SUCKED.

The WHOLE Nights series. All the games blow. Great, flying through rings, I loved it so much in Superman 64 lets do it again (yes i know Nights came out before Superman). And with a Christmas theme to boot YAY!!!

You have done a foul and wretched thing, gamer. To curse the NiGHTS series in such a way as you have done...

I wish a blight on your crops, and a crick in your neck!
