What is the worst SEGA game?

I actually kind of liked this, but it was weird that it had track ball controls. Surprised that they didn't try and port it to the 32X
I heard it was especially complex for developers to port arcade games to home consoles back in the '90s, although some still managed to pull it off, I highly doubt it would have made it to 32X

A 32X port of that would make sense. SEGA not porting it just sounds like a missed opportunity. The 32X REALLY needed more games.

Don't know if anyone is gonna agree, but MAN do I despise this game. No wonder Alex Kidd didn't make it past the 80s for a long time.

I thought the game was fine. Not good, but fine. One hit deaths and Jan-ken are the two things that ruined it.

Also, for bad Sega game. ALF on Master System.

Hard to say. But the worst game ever released on a Sega console may be Fatman/Slaughter Sport.
IDK, Time Killers is up there too. Slaughter Sport originally being a PC game is just all kinds of weird, even though PC ports at the time were fairly common on consoles

Well, I cant really comment on that because Id never played Time Killers.

Fatman, in turn, falls into that “category” of games where just moving across the screen is already hard on its own. I'd say every game that shares this trace can't be saved.

I will give the OP a tip: if you wanna find out what is the worst Sega game ever, maybe try to research it by platform. Take the worst of Master System, do the same with Mega Drive and so on, and then compare them to see what is the worst of all.

Since the 70s, Sega has made a whole whole lot of games, and some of their earlier arcade games are even considered "lost media".

Copying this from the last thread, as it's still accurate to me.

A couple contenders, depending on your definition of it.

Worst Sega game on one of their systems? Gonna go for the Make My Video series on the Sega CD. FMV at its absolute nadir, and does not help the CD's reputation.

Worst to come from their own R&D branches (AKA Sonic Team)? Sonic Free Riders. Yeah, everyone dunks on '06, but at least you don't have to tolerate the Kinect (not to mention Flynn literally forgetting its existence when making the Encyclospeedia).

There's also Sonic Jam on the Game.com, which was his first outing outside a Sega system. To put it bluntly, it's a total dumpster fire like the system is (barring its intended innovations).

Sega titles I personally consider to be poorly made or disappointing:
  • Sonic '06
  • Shadow the Hedgehog (I liked this one.)
  • Rise of the Robots
  • Shaq Fu
  • Dark Castle
  • Sword of Sodan
  • Heavy Nova
  • Action 52
  • Last Battle
  • Batman Forever
  • Captain Planet and the Planeteers
  • Virtua Fighter Animation
  • Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble
  • Exodus: Journey to the Promised Land
  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Game Gear)
  • Ultraman: Towards the Future
  • X-Perts
  • The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends
  • Pit-Fighter
  • Ballz 3D

"Shaq Fu" had cool rotoscoped animation and good music, at the very least.

Sonic 06.
I felt that it was a super low-hanging fruit to even bring up, but yes... It truly is garbage.

I don't even know what it's trying to be: the intro feels like someone had modded Sonic into Final Fantasy, the actual gameplay felt like a bad port of Sonic Adventure; and the writing seemed straight out of the cartoon, the one that had the Sonic Says segments.

That said... Chaotix is still the worst one for me, even when it felt cool and had great characters. Much like how Nintendo forfeited having an original Mario game on the Virtual Boy, barring Sonic from its sole 32X entry felt like an admission of defeat.

I actually love playing '06. It's a mess, but it's a really funny mess. PS2 Sonic Heroes and Game.com Sonic Jam are just painful. They stop being funny almost immediately.

I don't know what the absolute worst game is though. Afterburner 3 is one that pisses me off.
