Shining the Holy Ark is better than any Etrian Odyssey game, and it's pretty much where Golden Sun came from.

Ohhh, that's cute, but as for me Shining The Holy Ark keeps the title as being the best SEGA game by far, until today and including the future until I die :).

I don't even really consider old Atlus games like Etrian Odyssey "Sega" games. I have a hard time even liking the newer SMT and Persona crap they made while under Sammy

Their style is off, none of their games feel like Sega. They are becoming successful, but Atlus always felt closer to a less cool version of Falcom. A niche weirdo pandering JRPG focus, some of it hit or miss.

I think they each have style. The original 2 Persona games are a lot darker though. Same for SMT. Wasn't really into them until later on when i went back to check them out. They just felt edgy for the sake of edgy. Maybe it's because I grew up in the States but playing JRPGs about demons wasn't my thing over sword and sorcery.

I have never played Skies of Arcadia, wish we would get a modern port. I tried to emulate the Gamecube version but kept getting some sound crackling issues.

And probably their highest quality series, no lie, is Virtua Fighter. And you can tell, because it’s the one they give the most respect to. The business side of this company is bum, but the creatives they’ve had on over the years are something VERY special. That’s in software AND hardware design.

I will put the machos on the table and say a controversy. Because is not a game made by "Sega" but by a developer team that survived Konami before it was cool, but most of what they have done was exclusives for Sega and they been fused with Sega last time they did anything: Treasure. And I am not even talking about Gunstar Heroes. No, the only platform game I think is better than Sonic 3 and Knuckles & Knucles:

Sonic Adventure 1! I love the artwork they made for it and the music is great. Plus it had a really cool Christmas 1999 DLC for Dreamcast which is just awesome.
