There are undoubtedly several, and there will be many more, but what about this one? I just came across it and wanted to know if anyone recommends it, along with the minimum requirements.

This is the first I've seen this app on Google Play Store. It released on July 29, 2023. I would consider running a virus scan because it doesn't look legit, from what I'm reading on Reddit. Be really careful of what you download & install.

PCSX2 is the best!
but I've been using NetherSX2 on my new Retroid Pocket 4 and its really good as well

based on my analysis of the APK, this is a modified variant of DamonPS2, an emulator that stole code from the PCSX2 project (https://web.archive.org/web/2022011...tatement-regarding-the-damonps2-emulator.html)

it has been modified to add Jiagu (which attempts to obfuscate the code and make it harder to reverse engineer) as well as advertisements

as many users on here have noted already, it is better to stick with known-safe emulators like PCSX2 on PC and AetherSX2 (including the versions with the NetherSX2 Patch) on Android

if you want to use a jailbroken iOS device, the Play! emulator is your best option as long as you download it from the official website: https://purei.org/downloads.php

As others have said, on PC it's PCSX2 and always has been. I legitimately don't know of a single other PS2 emulator, because there's never been a need for one.

If you're looking for one for your phone, the best one to use is your PC, to play using PCSX2. 👍

i think AetherSX2 was discontinued and no longer available on the play store or something
but yeah NetherSX2 works great

i use PC and laptop PCSX2 runs well on both

retro game corps is must see when something new drops

How good an emulator is depends on what device it runs on, and then it can also depends on the operating system (OS) of the device and/or also a combination of firmware and/or drivers, and then it depends on what kind of "emulator" it's too. I would always say the best possible emulator there can be are the ones that are a hardware-software hybrid ones like ps2_gxemu.self for PS3. However technically, in general, the best PS2 emulator in the context of pure software emulation is PCSX2 on Windows PC (naturally here I assume it's the best possible computer)!!!

lolol

But technically if ps2_gxemu.self for PS3 was updated decently it would be the best PS2 emulator possible.

lolol

But then "best" is subjective here. Some people are ok with slowdowns and graphical glitches, even lack of original visual effects as long as the game runs in 4K and/or higher max FPS. Then currently PCSX2 wins the battle in best emulator lol.

My vote also would go to PCSX2.
Since the whole GUI overhaul and everything, it's a very reliable and good emulator. I hope sooner or later there will be an official port for it on Android, so I can use it on my Odin 2 Portal. (I know AetherSX2 and such exist)
