What games speak the universal language of...

SNES Earthbound where you have to stand still for about 5 minutes in front of a door, if you move at all the timer resets, so literally stand still for 5 minutes... it's way too long to just guess
Earthbound is so full of time wasting bullshit in general. That game annoyed the hell out of me when I played it.

3 minutes, but who's counting. Also the amount of time it takes to make and deliver a pizza, but who would use that....seeing as the large pizza can heal the entire party.

Not all games are made for everyone. I don't like Chrono Trigger. Not because it is bad, just cause everybody and their dog always blather how it is the best rpg on snes...it's not.

I also found Chrono Trigger's reputation to be somewhat overblown, but it was the only SNES RPG I could finish.

I agree with your sentiment that not all games are made for everyone, though - I keep failing to like games widely regarded as masterpieces.

I'm not a huge fan of Chrono Trigger either but I like it more than Earthbound. Chrono Trigger has a lot of tedious gameplay things I think get overlooked. Earthbound felt like it intentionally tried to waste your time. Even saving the game took like 4 or 5 dialog boxes each time.

Wow, I guess RPGs aren't your favorite genre. Luckily there are also tons of Action rpgs, and even strategy rpgs.

They also implemented a reminder pop up to save after spending about every 1 hour of playing. Not like Nintendo would later take this and implement it in mostly every 3ds game Nintendo ever made....surely....

Also If you want to complain about saving lengths. The longest known Saving a game that is on a console is psx Darkstone. It actually takes 49 minutes to make a SAVE that takes up 11 save blocks. It is a world record....maybe

Aw I remember Darkstone! That was kind of my first Diablo-ish experience back in the day.

Where does that information come from? I tried looking this up and found nothing about it. Not even the worst reviews on gamefaqs mention it and I feel like people who hate the game would definitely complain about that. It also seems like it would be impossible to write enough data to a playstation memory card for it to take 49 minutes.

The Very First Metroid, At least in Simon Quest you have (Relatively) useful sidequests, here you need to trudge for so many look alike mazes losing your way often as if you were in the Backrooms, ¿Missed the Nintendo Power issue with the map as a pre-internet kid? you are SOL

Ok I'll try my best to answer your questions:
1. Personal Experience
2. The game takes longer to save the longer you play the game. If you h8 the game, would you keep playing it?
3. On actual hardware, depending on which ps1 model you have, and what type of memory card you use, (and the fact Take 2 interactive is involved) anything bad is possible. DO NOT EVER USE MADCATZ memory cards. These WILL corrupt your save file. Emulator savestate makes this game quite a time saver.

Metacritics score of 58....that is way too generous.

I thought I could rawdog Valkyrie Profile but in the end it rawdogged me.

Silent Hill 2, not that the first one was straighforward, but this one takes the cake on ammounts of F Us it can throw at you, especially the fact you can lock yourself in a unwanted ending by checking a note AKA the most basic instinct on a Survival Horror game
