What games are you an Expert of?

Contra and Super C on NES, been playing them since i was 7, i literally know all the level layouts and suprises like the back of my hand, maybe all the Shovel Knight campaings too, and Halo CE.

I’m an expert on this thing called life don't know if you know of it really obscure game but super realistic
The High School levels sucked for me honestly, but the University hub is kinda cool right now, missions are hard too but not impossible.

Surprised haven't seen any FF7 experts here yet.

I guess I would qualify as that considering I did almost everything that could be done in the game, including the damn golden chocobo farming and racing grind. I got the Knights of The Round materia and killed the omega weapon super boss. But its been such a long time and I haven't revisited the game so I don't feel confident in calling myself an expert.

Actually scratch that, imagine being a FF12 expert lol.

Yeah imagine that. What kind of weirdo would consider himself an expert in that game. Spending 8 hours to beat Yiazamat and completing that hellacious fishing mini game. Takes a special type of loser to do that. ::nervous-prinny

Well at least you didn't complete the Bestiary! Forget Sunshine's Blue Coins, who in their right mind would even attempt hunting all that Rare Game? ::eggmanlaugh

today, almost nothing

back then i was pretty good with the Tomb Raider chapters, i remember quite a couple of controls training lessons to young players;
with a bit of train i could also complete Magician Lord on real Neo Geo in 30 mins

I'm pretty sure I did complete all of Montblanc's hunts, not sure if I completed the bestiary but if I didn't, I came close.

Hmmm, I’m seeing franchises, not genres, as that’s how I initially read the question and was gonna say open world, some shooters and turn based RPGs. Since those are the games I’m easily most comfortable with. Even if I don’t like a TB-RPG, I can still finish it easily. If I dislike a platformer, I won’t finish it.

For specific franchises, I’m actually pretty comfortable in my knowledge in classic Megaman, GTA, CoD, Pokémon and Persona 5. As well as Jak n Daxter, randomly enough, cuz I keep 100%ing them like I do with gta. I also 100%ed dark souls 1 and dead rising 1. Oh, and I really like max Payne and Midnight club.

I personally find ff7 incredibly addictive to do everything in. I prefer X, but it’s a grind and while I vaguely recall 9 having less stuff for 100%, I didn’t feel any incentive. I was satisfied with the base game itself.

LOL I think FF12 is pretty fun. The DnD-ish aspect of it is why I tend to prefer Dragon Quest over FF since well, I like to roleplay , haha.

Used to be a pro at Super Punch Out, though I've gotten rusty over the years. My best time was 9 seconds on Gabby Jay.
This was an obsession when I was a kid, back before I had the internet to compare to anyone. The other kids would watch me get a quick KO on Nick Bruiser like I was a witch (and it felt great). The battery on that cartridge went bad some years ago, so I don't know the exact times anymore, but I'm guessing given the nature of the game, anyone can follow other people's patterns and get roughly similar results.

Still, it was maybe the first game I felt I was "the best" at.

There's a few games I can think of that would qualify for me, but right at the top of the list would probably be any given Twisted Metal game (with the exception of the entry on PS3, which is by far the one I got the latest and have played the least.). Even if I take an extended break from just about any of them, I can usually still remember the map layouts and where the various weapon (and more importantly health) pickups are, what the map secrets are, which characters are in which game, what ending they have, how to unlock the locked stuff, etc. nearly flawlessly.

I wouldn't really call myself an expert on any games. But there are a number of games that I've played enough of it looks really impressive to anyone who hasn't played it/played a little bit of. Plus I know enough to sound like an expert.

Off the top of my head those games would be:
Ridge Racer 4/5/7 + Rage Racer, Castlevania SoTN/DoS/PoR, F-Zero SNES/MV/GX, Burnout Revenge, Touhou Luna Nights, and Dwarf Fortress.

You could count rhythm games under this definition but I know for a fact I'm just competent at some and not an expert. But they always look impressive to anyone unfamiliar with em.

I think the closest for me would be Muramasa The Demon Blade/Rebirth, because my experience comes from replaying it multiple times to the point where I can speedrun it.

It's to the point where I don't really watch other people playing through the game because if someone is doing something wrong, I have to suppress the urge to backseat.

Like a few examples of that (what I would be thinking is in itallics)
-"ugh I hate needing to backtrack from the boss" You should've bought some Bronze Mirrors from the shop to instantly warp to the last shrine you visited
-WHY ARE YOU CHASING AFTER EACH HAIRBALL INDIVIDUALLY, YOU HAVE A QUICK DRAW READY! USE IT!
-USE YOUR DRAWN BACK SLASH TO BREAK THE SWORDS OF THE SAMURAI ENEMIES, IT'LL TAKE TOO LONG IF YOU JUST KEEP SWINGING AT THEM! THAT IS LITERALLY IN THE FUCKING TUTORAL

There's probably more but these are some I can think of that really get me itching.

im unreasonably good at sa2 according to everyone ive played battle mode with but i wouldnt call myself an expert i think

Hmmm games that's I could beat with my eyes closed maybe these
Total overdose ,
GTA Vice City
Final fantasy 7

Footage of me playing Sonic Adventure 2
I haven't in years and I'd need practice, but I can speedrun Sonic's story in SADX1 and get a decent time. I can't do that with any other game, so it's probably my latent autistic superpower.

I won’t say I’m an expert but really love the SRW and Ys series.

The games I've come closest to becoming an expert on is probably either Crash or Spyro 1 on PS1.

I've played them through enough times that I've got a decent handle on completing them at this point. Even then, I still occasionally struggled with slippery climb or mess up Fumbling In The Dark cus those levels are a challenge.
