Switch What game would get you to buy a Switch 2

-Every Mario game, the main 3D Mario game being an open world platformer similar to Breath of the Wild.

-New Animal Crossing, but as a 3rd person simulator where you have the villager jump, ride bikes, skateboarding, swim underwater, take jobs. And it must bring back the everything from New Leaf.

-Splatoon 4: Open world that lets the player travel and explore the whole world of the Splatlands while doing missions, and online matches.

Xenoblade 4: Nothing else to say, but expand the universe with new story and characters.

-New 3D Zelda that goes back to the original Zelda formula (Dungeons, new items) this time, control both Link and/or Zelda.

-New Wario Land game: If Donkey Kong is getting a treasure adventure, why not let Wario return as well?

-Fire Emblem 1 remake: I don't know, but Intelligent Systems should just remake all their Fire Emblem games from Famicom-DS without the permanent deaths.

Starfox Adventures/Assault HD Remastered: Can't think of anything for the StarFox series, but like Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD, why not do the same with these two games?

-HD ports of classic Wii and 3DS titles such as Wario Land Shake It, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Punch-Out, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Endless Ocean 1 & 2, Kid Icarus Uprising, Super Mario 3D Land, Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask 3D. Unfortunately that would be an issue considering the prices.

Conker's Bad Fur Day on Switch Online

Disney Afternoon Colletction: For the love of god, Capcom! They're NES games that came from a Nintendo console!

Probably a Switch 2 exclusive ONLY with a lengthy lifespan or plenty replay value. And no i never buy one console for one game only. Ideally i need at least five Switch 2 exclusives (no cross gen ala MP4).

probabbly a new bravely default, bravely default 2 kinda sucked in my opinion and the remake looks like it will be good, second is realy good and i think the formula was almoust perfect in some aspects, but a new bravely default game would need to be more like the first 2 for me to justify getting a switch 2

Mayyybeee Chrono Break (Chrono Cross 2/Chrono Trigger 3) but only if it got a good reception, and not for 80 dollars. Maybe for 70.

I would like to remind everyone that you can't use the new 3D Donkey Kong, Silksong, and or Mario Kart World as reasons to buy Switch 2

Well since I already plan on getting a Switch 2 for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong, might as well add what I'm also hoping for

I know I’ll get one in a matter of time. It’s not one game that could get me to buy one. Rather, it’ll be a matter of time and value. If the library proves to be as stellar as early Switch, I may see it by the end of the year! But, with the economy where it is and me just wanting to live a happy life with my partner, I have more than enough games to keep me happy. I’ll miss out on the new thing, but good games stay good, and there’s always new things with old games to get excited about!

Edit: Oh, I’m sorry, what I meant to say was METROID PRIME 4 BABYYYYYYY!!!!

(I swear to god, this game was announced when I was 14 and now I’m most of the way through college…)

Mario Odyssey was the straw that broke the camel's back on the Switch. Once that released, I just had to play it.* I really enjoyed 3D world, but it did not scratch the same itch as other 3D Mario games.

A new 3D Mario would be a must for me, but probably isn't enough this time around. If the next Zelda is able to synthesize BoTW/ToTK's strengths and bring back proper dungeons and a story more in line with the first few 3D Zelda's, that could put me over the edge on buying it.

Beyond that, I would just want a good, diverse selection of exclusives to play. (And a price drop in some capacity would help)

* Fun fact: I got Charles Martinet's signature at a convention a few months before Odyssey released and got to tell him how much I appreciate his work and love the games he stars in (particularly Mario Galaxy 2). He was super nice to me and asked me if I had seen the new Mario coming out. I told him that I did, and it looked fun, but I didn't have a Switch. He told me that he thinks it will convince me to buy one. Obviously he is going to promote his work, but it felt very genuine on his part. This probably also influenced me to bite the bullet.

Metroid and Yakuza 0 Definitive are what I want, still not giving Nintendo money though. Heard they were doing Tomodachi Life 2 and I think that new Donkey Kong game looks baller. I'll get it later when I'm not completely at the bottom of the barrel anymore and actually have money to spend.

a pokemon game with a decent amount of information on whatever the hell is going on with ingo and emmet would get me to consider. either that or if by some miracle they made a port/remaster of sweet fuse for it. that would never happen though, and if it did get one it would probably be for playstation

or dragon quest 12.

3D Mario or Sonic Adventure 3.
I'd rather not have another Adventure game.

I mean the boost gameplay is a natural evolution of the franchise, I'd rather see them refining the style instead of going back to a fundamentally flawed one.

Sonic Heroes, 2006, Unleashed and Forces did the multiple gameplay style thing already.

I think it's the third game in the franchise.

Im the complete opposite, i see the boost formula as flawed and the adventure style as the best formula. I can't say the boost formula is bad per say but not the best.

The boost formula required very little strategy it just made levels "smash A to win" and when you got to actual platforming its a huge shift from running a thousand miles per hour to trying to wait until you can jump. This was especially bad in 2D portions. It slows down the game to a snail's pace.

The adventure formula does not have this issue, you stay the same pace for the entire level and if you get to slower parts its not that dramatic as a shift. Of course you had your fast portions but it only took a very small amount of the level.

The boost formula was nice for Unleashed,Colors and Generations however even in those games the boost formula had those flaws and each game they used it, the issues got more and more apparent.

Also for the gameplay styles in non adventure games it seems like something they tacked on to make gameplay time longer compared to actually feeling like part of the game and interconnected. Of course you had some pretty crappy gameplay modes like Big the cat and knuckles stages can drag on but overall it was good and if they do a new entry they could improve it.

Obviously the Adventure formula has its faults but now with better ways to design 3d games, it can be improved. And i also want to see the Adventure ark continue on in a actual good way and not how hereos did it.

But were definitely offtopic from what the thread is asking so let's just agree to disagree lol.
