Robo-Cop Rogue City. I wanted to play it for the longest time and boy were those some janky visuals for a modern game imo.

I actually enjoyed Rogue City quite a bit, though I felt immersion a bit lacking with default sounds (and it also could have used an optional video filter to mimic his vision).

Oh I don't contest that at all! As big fan of the first film since I was a kid, its been the best RC experience made yet and I had a blast playing it for before I stopped using GamesPass. The graphics may have been a bit underwhelming but that wasn't really an issue. Just something I noticed immediately heh

I am not the biggest Witcher fan but I really like the first game in the series. Music and story were great and I found myself really enjoying the combat. I don't really much care for graphics but even for it's time it wasn't that good looking game especially compared to other games from that year like the first Assassin's Creed and Uncharted. I know it didn't have the biggest budget either so there's that. Still a great game though.

That's true, you did mention the graphics. I thought the environments looked pretty good? the characters a bit less so. I guess I was so thrilled to be playing... you know a good Robo Cop game that I wore rosy tinted glasses!

For me, almost all D3 games during PS2 era.

What are those?
Some Simple series games, like EDF or Gavan to name a few.
Games by Irem fell to this category too for me, like Disaster Report and Steambot Chronicles.

I looked some of those up and I think I see what you mean. Maybe it was the quality of screenshot or what have you but the color seems super washed out among other things. Gavan looks like an early PS2 game and it was released in 2006 from what I saw. Those character designs are great though. Reminds me of the police robot dude from Power Rangers Turbo.

Star Saviors on Steam: decent Euroshmup with great OST but has early 2000's PC game visuals (not that I mind too much).

Pokemon Red-Blue-Yellow on GB, could not even sneak play in bed after bed time cos no backlight xD!

I think Brave Fencer Musashi technically fits this mold..
A fully 3D game on the PS1, so obviously the graphics were destined to age poorly, especially for an OG Squaresoft game. It's one of those edge cases where the character models are so bad, that they become oddly charming after a while, like a strange cartoon. That's because the gameplay and music were absolutely top-notch by comparison, and was the highly polished gemstone as to be expected of the pedigree. Finally, while the story isn't some sweeping, epic narrative, it was was one of the funniest Action RPGs that I've ever played, and was sold by some of the best (English) voice acting of the era..

With how cute the characters are and how colorful the game looks it feels more like a N64 game put on the PlayStation like that one Goemon game.

Zork????

I don't care for graphics, only if the gameplay is good. Heck even some NES era games have better graphics than some modern games...
