For me, there are two: turn-based RPGs and a bit of Fighting games. The first is due to time constraints and lack of patience; after all, like everyone else, I have more and more priorities as I get older. The second is partial, but I'd say it's because of the commands/combos, similar to RPGs. I don't have the patience for memorizing combos or executing complex commands, but I still enjoy playing fighting games casually.

Despite being a huge Fighting Game guy, I feel I spend less and less time with new one's as I get older. I still enjoy the classic's immensely and play them on Fightcade a lot, but having to keep up with season passes and purchase new characters regularly makes me less interested in modern fighters. You need to be able to lab new characters to remain competitive, but as a result Fighting Games have slowly become one of the most expensive genre's to keep up with, and I'd rather just stick with 3rd Strike and Garou at this point.

I don't have a genre, as a game can still hook me if it hits just right.
The thing I find I enjoy less and less is the overall output of Nintendo. As a kid, sure, give me all of that stuff I can get my hands on. But nowadays, give me Animal Crossing and maybe Wario Ware, and the rest of it I don't mind missing. Will it be well-made? Absolutely. But would I rather spend my time elsewhere? Also absolutely.

when i was a kid i HATED strategy games and almost always played some sort of shooter game

now it's the complete opposite

Graphic adventures.

I get maybe two hours of playing time a week nowadays and I don't want to spend them trying to solve random puzzles made specifically to stump you.

I'd much rather play a shooter or sandbox.

I want to say I've changed but I really haven't. I still enjoy the same games I did as when I was younger. Multiplayer games are something I don't really play at all anymore but I've never really been all that interested in those anyway.

Open world games. These days I tend to enjoy a more focused experience. Having this giant world to explore seems nice on paper, but I got things to do and people to see! I don't want to keep trekking across the same areas over and over just to get to the missions.

Monster catcher games like Pokemon I’ve slowly lost interest in, but Digimon’s been hooking me recently… so maybe not
Might just be Pokemon specifically. Try Cassette Beasts, Medarot, Custom Robo, or Shin Megami Tensei

RPG Dungeon Crawlers. I'm fine with standard RPGs that focus on a quest to defeat enemies to gain experience to level up and so forth, but with Dungeon Crawlers, it gets tedious and hard. Enemies or monsters would get tougher even on the first floor, and If my characters die, they will lose everything and start from the beginning of the first floor with no safe centers, rest stops, or warping back to the main hub. Even timed RPGs I can't stand. I do not want a time limit on an RPG where I can have patience and have a good strategy.
