I've been on quite the roll these couple of days listening to lengthy music like Godspeed You! Black Emperor, sunn O))) and Bull of Heaven.
In the past I would avoid listening to songs over 6 minutes long, but now I actually do quite like music like this. GY!BE's music is very hauntingly beautiful, songs like The Dead Flag Blues and Mladic are imprinted into my mind.
sunn O))) and Bull of Heaven are interesting to me because I haven't actually listened to drone before. My first drone track was She Was Sharp As Name Of Needles by Hakita (yes, the man behind Ultrakill), and he is quite open about his inspirations. So I went to check out sunn O))) and Bull of Heaven. sunn O))) was great (I listened to Flight of the Behemoth and Monoliths and Dimensions), I really loved the vibe. However, Bull of Heaven stuck with me so hard that I keep listening to it daily. I did not expect to love it this much because I didn't really ever listen to experimental music but... damn. Tracks like 111 (Superstring Theory Verified) and 123 (Eighty Thousand Species of Mischievous Sprites) are so fucking good, the usage of a movie dialogue as a sample in 005 (A Lovely Pear) actually elevated the vibe, and the repetitiveness of 002 (He Is Not Dead, But Sleepeth) was oddly relaxing. Admittedly, some of their longer songs like 029 and 299 felt a bit overwhelming with their over an hour length, but I made it to the end anyways.
Anyway I really recommend those bands if you want to expand your horizons or try something different.
