I think it’s these:
The PS3 Commercial with The Demonic Baby (I hope Sony fired the person who made that commercial)
The endless amount of cringy Wii U ads
“You Cannot Beat Us” NES Commercial
Every Mobile Game Ad
Yoshi’s Island U.S Commercial

Though, to be honest, I find goofy live-action ones like this and the Phantasy Star one to be hilarious. Terrible for telling you what the hell the game is actually about, though. RIP to my man Dorcas.

I'd like to say the Splatoon "You're a kid You're a squid" commercial, but in hindsight it was genius. I still get that stuck in my head every now and then.

Here's a good contender though: the entire series of american PSP commercials. I'M PLAYIN' NUT!

Which reminds me, anyone else despise commercials with uninterested narrators? That whole "this is the coolest thing ever, no big deal" schtick always irritated me.

What a classic. Sure it's objectively terrible. But it's so charming!

Most of the Saturn’s U.S. commercials are bad. They have the same energy SOA had been using since the early 90’s, and it wasn’t fresh anymore. Now it was just offputting AT BEST, or forgettable at worst.

You can tell how little faith they had in the system by how much they put in front of the gameplay. This commercial is people fighting to look at Panzer Dragoon through a pinhole. Another commercial has a guy dancing while footage of Daytona USA plays. There’s always this need to distract from the gameplay footage with something else going on, and your brain takes notice.

Yup…
It’s infamous for a reason. Just a perfect example to point the finger at, but this general vibe of “lame” was all over Nintendo’s marketing at the time. It made the Wii U and 3DS feel like they were for out of touch dads trying way too hard to appeal to their kids, and it made it hard for me to say I enjoyed my systems at the time, because I was a kid and kids are very judgemental.

The trailer of forspoken was corny af
