What do you think is the worst Game Boy Color game?

And this is STRICTLY Game Boy Color games. No OG Game Boy games. Also bootleg/unlicensed games don’t count, only officially licensed games.


Despite not having a very long life, the Game Boy Color wasn’t immune to games that were hot garbage. Whether it’s an entry in a major franchise or a game made to cash in on a movie or TV Show or just a game that wasn’t tested properly.



For me, the worst Game Boy Color game is a tie between Shrek: Fairy Tale Freakdown and Mortal Kombat 4 GBC

Don't know many Game Boy Color games so Gen 2 Pokemon with it's scuffed level scaling, terrible new Pokemon (in stats and locations), and the fact that anyone who DARES to pick Chikorita will get ass fucked by 6/8 of the Johto gym leaders. Name a Pokemon game where it's that bad over a STARTER.

Apart from all the movie tie in games? Or any f the many casino game sets lol. I'd have to go with something like 90% of the driving games on it.

I think the console itself has many many great games, just short life span really hurt it sales wise. How many back in the day even knew it was more then just a gameboy with colour but had double the ram? I know as someone who owned the purple one on release didn't know that.

A lot of people will think you exaggerate but the last time I played HeartGold I picked Chikorita and the game was 50% less fun because of my choice. GSC and HGSS are already overrated games but they become even worse because of Chikorita.

And the worst part is that even if you put Chikorita in another game it still sucks because it's such a boring Pokémon gameplay wise. At least Meganium has a cool design.
