I've been living away from my own country for about 4 years now, i don't know should i be happy or sad about it but the current place i'am in feels right than ever. What do you guys think about the topic ?

As long as I'd be able to live comfortably, not take up too much place just by being an outlander, and understand the language well enough, I'd say it sounds alright.

I wouldn't mind it if I lived in a relatively comfy place.

As long as itโ€™s not LA, Birmingham, or London lol. /j

I've been living on the other side of the world from the country I was born in for 5 years now and I've been much happier. I think what matters is how you feel about where you are right now. If you feel happier where you are then that's what's important.

Sometimes I miss my family and friends there but I still keep in touch with them but I don't feel strongly about my home country, it's just where I happened to be born, I have very little attachment to it as a concept.

Home is where you feel happy and comfortable. If it feels right to you, then I see no problem with calling it home.

Home is still where it's at, But if it's even just a little bit better than what you had before in more ways than one, I wouldn't mind. Long as you're safe and sound! Me and my fam moved 2 years ago and it turned out just fine! Never be afraid to broaden your horizons!

I've never been in another country.
I don't want to live in my own country too.
I will said this out loud, bluntly.
I prefer to be found naked and dead in a Zoo.
I don't want to find you dead in a zoo. I want you to live your best life.

I've never lived outside my own country, but I love foreign cultures, no matter which country you are living in now, I envy you.
If you feel comfortable there, then I envy you even more.
I think that's a wonderful thing!

If it's about survival...(civil wars, political instability, famine, etc) Maybe... The thing is I have to many roots that ground me to this land.
At the very least I want a land where those damn scooters don't speed up in the sidewalk.

Whatโ€™s stopping you? /j

If youโ€™re not joking then I hope you know that you shouldn't die in a zoo, whoโ€™d be as cool as you? ?

Never lived outside my country, but the states I've lived in have all had different vibes that almost make them feel like different countries. Which one is best? That's tough to say. I just try and enjoy where I am.

Just be aware of any cons or changes. Some places might be cool with you, others may not be cool with something you do, and worst case is that the place will hate you. I found out SK and Japan's downsides on my own research for instance, it's good to know what you're getting into in case you gotta prep.

Though if you're cool with where you are, it's fine too, sometimes might be even better to stay

I lived in the Netherlands for a short time and it was pretty cool. But after the novelty ran out, it was just like living anywhere else, except it had better food, I had to walk or bike everywhere and I couldn't read or speak Dutch. x) It felt so surreal when I got back to the US and I could suddenly read everything and understand passerbys again! Ultimately, I think I would have been happy there if the relationship I was there for didn't fall apart almost instantly. Home is where you make it, it's nothing but a good thing if it feels right to you. ?

My mother moving to another country was the best thing that ever happened to me. I fucking despised my home country and i don't want to ever set my feet in it ever again.

Home is indeed where you make it, no doubt. However, itโ€™s also important to remember that the world doesnโ€™t revolve around any one of us in particular. With that in mind, the opportunity to live somewhere other than your birthplace is not just a luxury, but something that should never be taken for granted. Recognizing this perspective is essential. Things WILL change, for the better or worse. Learning to just live in peace knowing that is one of the hardest challenges in life for the majority of people.

We are all living in a foreign country in a sense. It is when learn to accept another that is when the world feels a lot easier....in another lifetime perhaps.

I'm actually kind of terrified to even visit another country. I'm very paranoid about offending people or doing something really wrong or stupid entirely out of ignorance of their culture, and if it's a country that isn't very prominent with English, there's even more issues due to a language barrier.

I feel much the same, on a smaller scale, visiting literally anywhere outside of the midwest.

I would NEVER want to live in the UK based on well certain choices they make over they currently & how they're pretty much against people talking about certain going ons over there on social media and well yeah if you've saw news about it and such then you'll understand what I meant.

Based on that above I'd give the UK

I found the states miserable enough as is and UK is just kinda double that, I'm sure thereโ€™s some nice cities but fuck me imagine living in Liverpool.

They also gave us James Corden, thatโ€™s enough of a crime as is. /j

London wasn't all that bad for the 2 years i lived there. But that was also more than 10 years ago so i don't know how bad it's gotten nowadays.

Ah, I'm also from the Midwest and I feel this.
Even though my grasp on the language is rough, I had a wonderful experience in Japan. Everyone was so kind to me, and a lot of the people I met seemed eager to exchange Japanese and English.

Based on how many people I've talk to who've visited foreign places... it HAS to be a less stressful and more pleasant experience generally than I'm worried it would. It still leaves me kind of... petrified, though. lol I'm scared to visit large cities because THEY function so differently, much less a whole other country...

Well for some context about the situation i'm in, i live in the country i'm at so that i don't have to turn back to my home country, and yes every person alone has their own opinions and such, mine is that i was extremely tired and frustrated of the stuff and experiences i had to go through while i was there. I don't know if this is the right place to talk about it but i felt like i need some answers or some "ways" to feel about my own situation.

And yes i do feel like home more than ever, and the country is not so bad for a foreigner unless you know where to not go or not do, which is normal since every country has it's "rules" for foreigners.

After all i think for myself, this was the best choice i've ever made.
