PS2 What do I do with my original Phat PS2 model?

Like seriously... What do I do with it?
I'm not interested in selling it at the moment, it doesn't have any wires or controllers & I can't sell it because of that, my mom wants me to trash it, it has four games that are missing the case I got with it, & most important of all, I'm not interested in collecting for the PS2 at the moment.
I could try to sell it to buy something I want more than it, could trade it for something else, I could try to mod it in the future, I'm not sure tho so that's why I'm asking.
What do I do?

Mod it! There's this port on the back of the console which was used for connection purposes like playing online FF 11. Once modded you can put in a HDD at the said port. The amount of games you can put in on it depends on the memory capacity size of your HDD.

The video cables and power cords are fairly inexpensive for them. If the one in the picture is yours and you want to modify it, you'll need to get an Ethernet adapter for it. Third-party adapters are reasonably priced, but that really depends on whether you care enough to bother.

I would order the cables and power cord for around $13 USD, as my image below shows. You can at least check to see if it works. If it does, you could resell it for much more than the cost of the cords. However, that's really up to you. Since PS2 emulation is almost nothing to pull off these days, I understand if you don't want to invest time in the console itself, As it holds no nostalgic value for you, Unlike a lot of us, whom had it when new.

i dont think you can use the internet port unless you have an official sony hdd adapter and manually add a sata port to it

but you can also just mod a ps2 with FMCB + MX4ISO or FMCB + USB drive

I didn't see this. But if you want a cheap way to mod it, search eBay for "Free McBoot PS2 memory card"
If you have no other way to do it, I think they are around 8 USD.
The Ethernet adapte, for the HDD, a OEM one rather, is around 80$

You could probably sell the games, loose, as is, and get enough money to get the cables and maybe a controller. If you can hold out until you can manage the modding, you can have the entire PS1/PS2 library on that thing.

Well... I was going to suggest pretty much what everyone here has.

It's really a matter of wanting to do it. Is it really worth the time and money to mod it?
As our AI overlord stated, you can emulate the entire PS2 library if you really want to, with far better options like upscaling, HD textures, and almost no loading times anymore.

I'm gonna state this again since I didn't make it clear enough but... I'm not really interested in the PS2 library of games, I'd prefer to collect for the consoles I already own at the moment & either get a Genesis or SNES, I hope that helps a bit.

Put PSBBN on it. There is an English Patched version on Github called the PSBBN Definitive Project.
PSBBN has native PS1 support, so you wouldn't have to use Pop Starter like with FreeMcBoot.
The only downsides are you will need an HDD and a USB bootable Linux thumb drive, and a PS2 Fat or a modded PS2 Slim. For a PS2 Fat model, I would recommend getting an official Sony network adapter and modding it with the Bitfunx SATA adapter shown above. There are many other features like music and MiniDisc support, just thought I'd mention that.

You are potentially looking at about $50 USD if you sell them. Also, too bad you don't have the case and booklet for Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken Land. That game can go for upwards of $150+ depending on the condition.

Based on the game prices, and as I can tell from the image, the PS2 looks pretty pristine. I would price it at around $180 USD plus shipping and handling.

A lot of people would probably buy it, aside from the PS2, but for Wizardry alone.
