What did you play today?

Yesterday i was playing Megaman BattleNetwork 1 at late hours in my house, and i was brutally defeated by Gutsman after less than 10 minutes in the game.

1.Some THPS 3+4:
idk how to feel about it yet. The physics of this remake feel completely different from the original games and om not quite sure if i like it or not. I didnt play the 1+2 remake despite having a pretty strong attachment ti the first game. Perhaps they changed the physics starting with those games and people got used to it and im just late to the party.
Gotten used to the different physics in the game and im having a really fun time.
4. Expedition 33:
Not a big RPG Guy but my friends love this game so I decided to try it out. Im an hour in, dont have many thoughts yet besides, its gorgeous.
16.7 Hours in now.
Theres much more i can say about this game but the TLDR version is simply: Expedition 33 is a well balanced game through and through but the areas in which it excels at, are aspects that don't hold the same amount of weight as the ones in which it lacks for me.

However im at a crossroads. Expedition 33 is like going to a Burger joint you've heard great things about, receiving and trying out that burger and realizing that, while it is well made, it comes with toppings i personally don't enjoy. The confliction i have tho lies within the sides of that meal. The fries and milkshake are so good i wonder if they are enough to keep me coming back to this spot in the future

6. Marvel Snap:
Just a nice little card game i relax with sometimes.
Im really not a fan of the way they've changed unlocking cards. Its much more random now which will eventually widen the gap for veterans and new players.

In addition to playing these i also got some games of zero build fortnite in.

Started "Streets Of Rogue" on GOG (they had it on sale for cheap along with the character pack). Super fun and pretty limitless in what you can do

Also been playing Zen Pinball World on my phone a bunch. Really great time sink on my breaks. Mainly just play the Williams tables. Currently trying to master White Water

havent played anything yet today, last night though..
  • downloaded & got a couple of hours into Sword Coast Legends, right after I was done posting about how bad it is lol
  • logged a few more hours into Devil Spire Falls, my current hyperfixation game (just released into early-access so its a little barren atm for me to recommend but I love it)
  • also started playing Angband again, mostly to mod it since its rly easy to mess with the files & add custom graphics
    • the custom mary sue elf mage sprite i hacked together from other sprites

I played some of My Friendly Neighborhood on Game Pass. While I was initially into it, I'm getting tired of looking around for stuff, Resident Evil inventory management, and loading whenever you open every single door.

Wuchang continues to be fantastic. While it's also on Game Pass, I bought a physical copy and am playing on PS5 Pro.

Trying to get the best title for each character in Tales of Symphonia by winning in the arena on Advanced difficulty. All my characters roughly level 74, and have been using mostly titles that do not come with stat increases on levelup, so the party isn't particularly strong, which is part of why I want the arena titles. 😅

Managed to get Presea's after awhile of effort, but I seem to suck with most of the other characters. That, or my stats just aren't high enough to do well solo.

Finally playing through tears of the kingdom, just finished majoras mask 3d and samus returns.

I'm glad I waited to play tears, anyone that marathoned BOTW immediately beforehand will wind up gaslighting themselves into hating the game.

Majoras mask is as amazing as everyone said it was. Samus returns is the hardest metroid outside of the first two games on the nes and gameboy, easily, all enemies hit like trucks ::cirnoshrug

I gave Mario Paint a try today, it ain't no Kid Pix, but its still fun to try out. Composer mode was great as well, I guess...
Funny! I'm watching a video of Vinny from Vinesauce playing it right now. The Genesis had a couple of Paint programs for it as well, "Art Alive" (which Wikipedia says predates Mario Paint?), "Fun N' Games" , and "Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio". Art Alive and Fun N Games I actually remember renting from Blockbuster (which feels kind of odd in hindsight, but I guess I was just happy for something new to play with next to no game variety beyond my copy of 6-PAK)

Also just messed around with a new purchase, an SG Propad 2 Genesis controller that I got from work. Had one before (as it came highly recommended by the fine folks of the Sega-16 Forums), but the start button didn't work (neither did the "function" settings for Rapid Fire). This one (which I got for a handsome 3 dollars at the Goodwill that I work with) worked like a charm. The Rapid Fire does not work with every game though. Tried it with Air Buster and the fire buttons didn't work at all. Vectorman though? I became the living nightmare of every baddie that crossed my path

I'm going through sudden strike resources war finishing it i will have played all campaigns for the 2D games only 3 and 4 (5 has been announced) it's torture sudden strike is a amalgamation of good ideas buried deep under droves of bad ideas Resources war is the best example.

Missions are scripted in a horrible way enemies constantly respawn for a game trying to emulate realism that's not so "realistic" you can't have a moment of peace! I want to organize the men and the material i have i can't because enemies keep attacking how is this "fun" i had to mod out fuel system for the game to be "playable" in fact i had to mod the game so much to balance it better (bring allied tanks to the power level of German ones) it's so frustrating and annoying that i have to spend 4 hours grinding endless waves of panzer IVs they only stop once you capture some workshop then you have to deal with 8 not 1 not 2 but EIGHT Tigers that are highly experienced these constantly get rebuilt in a nearby factory that you need to capture to finish the mission i spent 4-5 hours playing this piece of shit today finally i reached mission 3 and at last i will be done with this game how can it be this bad? How did they deem this fun is beyond me.
