What did you play today?

I started playing Squeakross, which is Picross but you get to make a little mouse dude and completing puzzles unlocks furniture you can use to decorate your house Animal Crossing-style. The soundtracks has a loungey easy listening kind of vibe. Reminds me of Jeff Martin's work on the Sims. It's basically my dream game lol

Red Steel — It's Red Steel

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse – Still a step down from Canvas Curse but it's growing on me. I can at least tell they put in the effort, even if the pacing is slow and the control a little clunkish. Not as babbymode easy as most Kirby games which I appreciate.

Squeakross – uuhm, cheesed to meet you?

I finished Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams so I'm now caught up with all of the mainline Onimusha games until Way of the Sword comes out next year.

Fatal Fury City of the Wolves. Finally got to try out Andy earlier. Cleared Arcade and EOST with him.
I'm on vacation this week so, trying to game, watch movies and anime if I can. Hard to manage my time, worse being off and "I wanna do this, nah this, aw hell nah this is better!"

Replaying Portrait of Ruin. I like that you get the best of both worlds with an explorable castle hub and distinct levels in the form of paintings. The market town is pure vibes. But I find myself using Jonathan 99% of the time and only switching to Charlotte when an enemy is weak to magic. It also has the same issue I have with a lot of metroidvanias where the areas in between boss fights are fairly dull.

Right now I'm currently playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep as well as Phantasy Star Portable 2 on my PSP for multiplayer with my little nephews. 😁

Somehow I missed out on playing Mario RPG growing up. Absolutely having a blast with the remake, it was made with so much love that I wanna know everything about everything in this game.

Finally getting around to playing Red Ninja for my next review, it's an interesting game so far. The stealth is really linear, it's not something like Splinter Cell or even Tenchu where it's about watching your noise level and dynamically staying out sight. I swear there's like hard programmed spots where the enemies just won't see you and that's your only path through a level, if that makes any sense. I'm also planning on playing more Gauntlet: Dark Legacy a little later for another article, an absolute classic of course.

I've also downloaded Immortals of Aveum to play at some point just for fun; it was a free game at some point on PS Plus, and I've always wanted to give it a try as it seems kinda interesting. I've also been playing the Borderlands series a little bit here and there again, outside of the obnoxious humour it's a fantastic shooter-RPG/looter-shooter/whatever you want to call it franchise.

Cn you play using emulators still phantasy star on the psp online with people?

Finally started getting into Policenauts after trying to play it in an emulator for years I decided to load it up on my ps2 via opl. Such an amazing game so far. It's crazy to see all the names and some characters from the metal gear series in it.

A cute little Castlevania-ish game called Akumanor Gaiden DX that I got off Itch. It's fun, but really too easy. I think I beat it in 20 minutes.
Link if anyone want's it

Fired up a few quick rounds of Worms Armageddon earlier today. Fun times. :)
Man, I miss Team17 and the Worms franchise

Was playing Mario Kart Double Dash Plus earlier today. All the added tracks are fun, even if I'm having to re-unlock the cups and karts I already had on my main PC.

While I can't fix that PSU, I'll stick to low powered emulation on this old laptop, my phone or my Switch. Good thing there's 30 years of games available on the repo to download!

Resident Evil 4 Remake - Just beat Del Lago. No major complaints so far except the gunpowder crafting feels superfluous. Actually the game kept crashing on startup until I removed the crash report .dll from the game folder lmao. Fucking Capcom

Grand Theft Auto V - Beat it. Pretty shallow experience with a stretched out plot; serious pacing issues (the stakes are maxed out like halfway in the game when you're taking on an entire PMC and at that point you've seen everything it has to offer). The open world is pretty but like 2/3 of it has fuckall going on. Really didn't feel any desire to explore the map beyond driving around in the rain listening to music. The shooting was fine. Helicopter controls were atrocious yet you had to fly one like every 4 missions. Underwhelming overall. Can't wait for GTA6!

Curse Crackers: For Whom the Belle Toils - Indie 2D platformer with a Gameboy Color-like aesthetic. The hook is that you can use your bell-creature-thing to double jump in a way similar to how Kolonoa throws enemies to bounce off of them. Simple but effective. Boss fights have been excellent so far. My only major complaint is it's hard to toss your bell diagonally and they could have used a Metroid kinda lock-in-place thing. If that makes any sense. It's on sale for like $4 and I highly recommend it if you're into that sort of thing

F-Zero GX - Hard as fuck but I like it so far. Might prefer X just because it's a bit more manageable lol.

hatsune miku project mirai, doom eternal, tomodachi life, call of duty cold war zombies, shovel knight

Made a lot of progress in RE4 Remake. I'm still really digging it, probably wouldn't go as far as saying it's better than the original (probably gonna replay afterward) but they've definitely done it justice.

Played a bit of a modded playthrough of Final Fantasy IX on my Steam Deck and started played LAD: Pirate Yakuza.

Played some Ace Combat 7 multiplayer with my friends, hoping Project Aces actually says something meaningful about Ace Combat 8 soon. Think I'll be playing some Burnout Revenge, too, I'm really yearning for some fun racing games lately.
