What are your other interests besides games, manga/anime/comics?

Cooking, gardening, electronic and mechanical repair.

I used to be a huge reader as a kid, before video games, and I want to get back into that but it's kinda hard to do so now. When I was little I just read whatever was given to me and we had in the house (I read a few of the Encyclopedia Brittanica set we had for a while for lack of other stuff) but now I have to make the choice of what to buy for myself and it's not like video games where you can look at gameplay online and make educated decisions. The covers are all awful and don't tell you anything and the reviews are always glowing because why else would they put them on the book sleeve?

I don't even have a driver's license.
Neither do I. I'm turning 21 this March 30th as well. I don't trust myself driving because of my extremely... lacking spatial awareness and reaction time. I can't even get on and off an escalator right or climb stairs without feeling like I'll fall off, let alone drag around in a giant metal box where any mistake could cost me my life. Worst part is, if you have to get anywhere in this city, a car's your only option. For some asinine reason using a bus or the metro is frowned upon? I have no fucking clue why.

Oh, interests I have... well, I've mentioned this before but I am interested in linguistics and pretty much anything to do with language. I've been into this kinda thing since I was a kid. Aside from Arabic and English I also speak German and French at different levels. Admittedly, I'm more interested in learning about languages than learning languages.

During an intensive course in German I took last summer, I had a startling realization: I love languages for many many reasons, but the most important one was... because I loved grammar. The idea of all these cool structural rules I have to use in real time, it's a really nice mental exercise. When our professor said "We're over the dry grammar stuff", everyone sighed in relief, except me.

Programming seems to me like grammar condensed. The appeal is the same; these structural rules you have to apply in real time to create something. It seems to me like programming is pretty much the center of the cinnamon roll you know what I mean.

I write music periodically. I haven't made anything in a while and I need to up my theory knowledge. Made the switch from LMMS to FL. FL is really just better in every way.

Something I made in LMMS I am proud of.

I like going to liquor stores and trying to find limited-time soda flavors to try. When I lived by a big asian market in seattle, they would get limited-time coke and pepsi flavors we wouldn't get here, so that was always a treat.
Late reply but I love doing this as well! When I went to china I tried all the crazy flavours they has there (grape, rice, hawthorn, …).
What was your favorite flavour that you’ve come across so far?

Listening to a lot of people on the web, it seems like I'm the only one who plays games and follows football or sports in general. I have supported SSC Napoli since I was a child, and I still follow them on TV or at the stadium when I can.
Furthermore, my greatest passion is listening to music. Generally whatever comes before 2020 up to the 1950s, but my favorite singer is Michael Jackson.
I also really like collecting things, from movies to video games and so on.

Believe me man, football fans are everywhere
They're just shy ::blush

I'm a musician I guess first n foremost... can get by on guitar but more of a vocalist in practice. had a 90's avant-garde alt-metulz band from '95 to '99. it's been since the 00's that I put my voice to music - tons of projects in instrumental format but need decent virtual amp to throw the real guitar in... n I also should somehow get into voice acting at some point since I used to do prank calls in a variety of ridiculous voices.... I write absurd comedy skits... used to be a club tennis player n used to watch it religiously (and MMA - never could get into team sports - way more interested in 1 x 1 psychological duels)

... want to get back into it but my health is a horrific situ so I can only do so much - music n games of pretty much any genre/subgenre. I'm a lot more seasoned n effective with takin in like crust powerviolence for a bit then tech death - after that maybe prog black metal or blackened speedmetal, screamo, indie folk, post-rock, noise rock or just plain noise period... avant-garde jazz. doomjazz, klezmer, acid jazz. J-pop, K-pop, industrial, ambient, darkwave, electronics, power electronics, classical, disco, americana, bluegrass, classic/prog rock/metal lol hiphop-the-Now, hiphop '94-'97, alt-hiphop, grime. deathrap, deathrock, post-punk, weaboo, chiptune, video game soundtracks etc etc

as far as my own stuff it depends on the project but almost always experimental. do 'horror metal' n a lot of horror theme covers as well as my own themes.

here's a cover I did of one of the Kimagure Orange Road anime's theme songs - kind of a symph/metal version but added stuff n messed with the song structure.

I also tinkered n edited chars on M.U.G.E.N. for a few years

Oh I’m really sorry to hear that. I feel I sometimes take life for granted. Me getting my license at age 18 didn’t feel like a big deal but now I understand to others it is. Also funnily enough I love grammar haha!
You wrire music? That’s really cool!

Richter & Maria! hearing your song =D

also I have a synth-melofuturedeath or somethin project n its 2nd album is inspired by music of the Phantasy Star series. my Orange Road cover up there might sound a mess percussion-wise - this is a lot more cohesive n if you like Phantasy Star & PSO music maybe you'll like it or at least dig the titles hehe

this is the last link I'll post unless requested. ^_^

loved your tune! I think it's obvious I'm a labyrinth-linguist or something. my Japanese is mad rusty but I never even know what obscure word might enter my mind at any given time. won a spelling bee in a South Jersey Catholic school in 3rd grade hehe surreal

I've been in somewhat of a rut lately, Don't have the motivation or self-esteem I used to. But I love music and martial arts. I've played Piano for about 14 years and started Bass Guitar not too long ago, but haven't really done any of it for a year or so now. And I practice Tang Soo Do, but life got in the way there and I haven't been able to get back to my dojo for a minute now as well. Hopefully I can find that strength and time I need to pick this stuff back up. Haven't felt all that great about not keeping up with it.

Baking, ig. I'm not a pro, but I love doing it. It started when my now gf (then still friend) taunted me into a bet that my cake will be worse than her, after I called her cake "a brick" because istg it would hurt if it hits your head lmao

Then, baking just grows on me. Desserts are good with coffee, too, so I started eating them regularly nowadays lol

This pastry got banana in it:

This is mini milk pies with cheese and choco chips:

this has a really gnarly sound to it. Not sure what to make of it but I like it. Love hearing others music.

This song could go crazy in the right Doom Wad.

Besides the dorky nerdy shit I drown in, i fuck up the wok everyday, reading recipes and cooking them good plates up. Besides that I always love some pro wrestling, the day that Mick Foley dies, I will cry (Eddie Guerrero looks like my uncle) and I am deeply in love with films of all kind, especially indie and art-house/world cinema (Watch Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters and Kin-Dza-Dza PLEASE)
