Yeah! I want to play that magic game too!I heard somewhere that SGGG might be translated soon, so I guess I only have one white whale left for the Dreamcast:

Are those Nomura designs?recently i started playing the "art truck" series (something dekotora), PSX, PS2, NDS... incredible games they are, every version they make a different game and all of them are good. i'd like to see them in an "at least readable" language.

having a translation, at least on the menus, would be enough for me.
Where have you heard that?I heard somewhere that SGGG might be translated soon, so I guess I only have one white whale left for the Dreamcast:

Gunparade March and Gunparade Orchestra trilogy.
The Twilight Syndrome series. They are Clock Tower-like Horror games, putting it in a very tl;dr way.
I want the Ds one the mostView attachment 45507
I wish more Princess Maker games got translated. PM2 on PC is the only one I have found in English.
The main PS2 Super Robot Wars titles, Impact, Alpha 2, Alpha 3, MX, and Z. MX being potentially one of the longest JRPGs ever made does not help it's likelihood of getting a fan patch at all. I feel like Z or Alpha 3 are the ones most likely to get TLs since other entries in the Alpha and Z series' respectively have gotten fan patches but I'm not sure.

Do I ever hear that! There is a TR5 translation floating around out there, but I don't think it's very good. Ishin no Arashi also got a partial translation on the Nes.Im a big fan of Koei, so any of the Daikoukai Jidai games we never got to play out here in the west, same with Ishin no Arashi on NDS, or some of the Taiko Risshiden games..

I've actually been doing work on TR3 for windows. I managed to make a no-cd crack, and reverse engineered the dat files and the text from the main executables - I made a dumper and an inserter for those, and tested it out with dummy text and machine translations, and got it all working.
There is still a lot of text I can't even find which I assume is compressed (everything else is bare SJIS). On windows as a platform, I don't know how to get a good enough debugger setup, so reverse engineering a compression algo is a big ask... I haven't totally given up, but it's on hold, and I think I'll focus on consoles for now. Too bad too, because Royal Blood 2 is stuck on windows (that's gemfire 2) and I haven't even been able to crack the CD check successfully on that one.
I'm currently working on a GBC game, Pocket King. I'm getting close to (I think) and then I'll be looking for another project. I might go for Soldnerschild for psx (another untranslated KOEI rpg where you are a German mercenary leader or some such). If I can figure out pc-98 romhacking Progenitor is also stranded over there, with Daikoku Jidai in space vibes and light-gun segments (KOEI really goes all over the place!) and that dope pc-98 music, too. There's also Kamigami no Daichi on pc-98.
So, if you like, tell me what console (ps1 and earlier plz) based KOEI stuff is top of the list for you and I'll throw it on my pile to consider for my next project.
Odin sphere was published by atlus in the west which is known for their translation quality in the ps2 era (usually) so odin sphere is probably fine, can't comment on 13 sentinels.I dont know where else to ask this, but I also dont think it warrants its own thread. I mentioned Unicorn Overlord earlier on here, as it's fairly notorious for having an innaccurate translation amongst purists. Same with 13 Sentinels. But how are Vanillaware's older games?
I'm especially curious about Grimgrimoire, and Odin's Sphere. Are they accurate to the original Japanese, or do they have the same issues as Unicorn Overlord and 13 Sentinels? Thanks in advance.
