We often talk about gameplay, art style and soundtrack but I believe that sound effects are an important part of a game's identity as much as its soundtrack.

Here's a video about many iconic sound effects that were used both in games and movies.

half life 2 stalker scream is so funny to me for some reason, i remember when i first heard it in the game i burst out laughing
 
One is the sound of when you complete something in the first Assassin's Creed.
The second is this:
The scream of the rebel soldier is always in my memory ?
Also a special mention to the fuse machine in OG RE 2

Your signature immediately makes me think of how much I love the announcer power-up calls in the various Gradius games, particularly Gradius 3 SNES.
 
Shining in the Darkness/Shining Force series : I'm in love with the sounds for the choices/menus and for the dialogs. A pure delight of Nostalgia :love:
