I thought it was cool how the forum's software automatically merges two subsequent posts when a user makes a second reply after their first if no one else posts between that time. It keeps things nice, and tidy without leaving the user feeling like they're hogging the conversation. I've not seen that before.

Does anyone know if the forum's software is FOSS?

I left RGT for a bit because life got a bit busy. (Work mostly) I did get on here every so often to check out new post when I could. I ended up getting extremely sick and it really destroyed my mental health. I recently decided to come back and I have to say I made the right choice. Everyone here is so welcoming and supportive. I'm honestly glad I'm back.

Forum sites make it easier for someone like me to talk to other people since I'm so shy and anxious in real life. Also I enjoy the community everyone is so nice and finding people to talk to about retro games isn't easy these days.

Nothing personally. I just think it's worth knowing who's responsible for the code I'm using. I've seen a lot of people using the Discourse forum solution, and wondered if this was another good FOSS offering. I'm a fan of forums because they are resilient ways of community collaboration, and sourcing public information. They're also available for web archive tools while things like Discord are not. Closed source forums will be less resilient though if the company behind them goes away.
