What are your favorite JRPGs on the PSP?

It’s sorta on the more Average side. It’s moreso for fans of Savers specifically since it’s a really standard turn based rpg but I personally enjoyed it.

Jeanne D'Arc, Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Knights in the Nightmare (technically better on DS tho) and the stellar Final Fantasy Tactics & Tactics Ogre remasters for tac RPGs.

Phantasy Star: Portable 2, Final Fantasy: Crisis Core, Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite, Kingdom Hearts BBS, Ys: Origins and the Star Ocean 1 & 2 remasters for action RPGs.

The PSP also has the best versions of Lunar 1 & 2, Persona 1 & 2, Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 4, Valkyrie Profile 1 (tho this is debatable) AND my favorite version of Persona 3 since it has FeMC. Not a ton of traditional turn based RPGs though. I could easily triple my action or tactical RPG recommendations but I struggle to remember many traditional turn based games, especially ones that aren't remakes/remasters.

Yea no one like their comment, they have Final Fantasy II in this image. Also they shown the worst version of PoPoLoCrois and Star Ocean 1. The last dungeon in Star Ocean 1 can go suck an egg, made me delete the game.

FF2 is dope even if it isn't for everyone and SO1 on PSP was def the definitive version of the game until First Departure R released for modern platforms. It is a game that definitely demands you to grind a bit and engage with item creation mechanics for the end to not feel like a spike, but it isn't impossible with a little perseverance.
