What are you currently listening to?

I loved listening to Tomoyasu Hotei's music since I discovered his song スリル (Thrill) in the Nintendo DS rhythm game Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!

Right now, I am listening to Psychopath (1987), an album from when he was in the band Boowy. My favorite song on there is Liar Girl.

For the last few years I usually skipped slow songs, but when this one came on, I noticed something. I'll probably keep it on for a few hours.

(Are you a bad enough dude to find the Synthetic Origins version?)

I like all genres of music except maybe jazz, which nonetheless boasts amazing musicians.
When I was younger I really liked 70s rock and punk-rock (such as the Clash, Mark Bolan and the T-Rex, the Ramones, etc...). Right now I listen to a lot of symphonic, chamber and baroque classical music (Bach, Hændel, Corelli, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms, Schubert...).

Tried Bruckner yet? Sounds like you're familiar enough with long-winded structures.

I don't know if there's many music nerds like me, but I've been listening to a lot of drone & folk. These days if I ain't going anywhere with my family or playing stuff, I've been laying down and listening to a lot of Natural Snow Buildings & Paavoharju.

Been listening to some more livesets. Gotta admit, the Youtube feed is sometimes pretty good when it comes down to taste.

One of my favorite unused songs in games

Still on a Chrono Trigger kick. (Listening to the Synthetic Origins version, of course.) Took me 15 years to notice the opening theme was playing before the loop here.

My friend Andi Boi (aka Xirtus) just released this album today.

first track is like synthy pop, and the rest is like speed metal (some of which could pass as castlevania music)

Funny story, when I started listening to Dream Theater a lot of their material made me think of retro Konami games. Then I read an interview with Michiru Yamane and she cites them as one of her favorite bands! I think my love for VGM when I was a kid was what set me up for liking metal and prog rock down the line.
Also very Castlevania-ish but that's no surprise; the band takes inspiration from the same sources, baroque classical and prog rock. If you've got 21 minutes to spare to listen to this track you will not be disappointed (I hope!)

Something nice and Relaxing
