What are you currently listening to?

This has been a big one for me lately. I lost a couple people in 2024 and I can certainly relate to the desire to want to forget someone to take away the pain. I'm glad I can't, because the time spent with them is irreplaceable and it will get easier, but it still sucks until then.

One of my current favorite tracks. Can't go wrong with Shoegaze and the lyrics hit home too. I'd recommend the album the song comes from, Pure Mood. No, not Pure Moods, though that's a good album too.

There are very few songs out there I consider perfect, here are two of them. I never get tired of listening to them.

I’ve been listening to a lot of PUFFY (as in Hihi and Amiyumi, respectively) on Apple Music over the past few months. Here are a few of my fave tracks:

I have a lot of nostalgia for these girls! In addition to watching their cartoon as a kid, which I rather enjoyed, my sister also had their sole American album, which collected several of their mainstream, easy-to-digest hits. Ami and Yumi were already irrelevant in the west by the late 2000s, but it’s always a very pleasant surprise to hear them do legitimate anime OPs/EDs from that era, like for Usagi Drop or Hatarake Man. They come across as two very likeable individuals — they always seemed that way in the show’s live-action segments — and it warms my miserable heart to see that they’re still working together into their 50s, with a new song out this month! Nothing is impossible, indeed.

I adore this era of 2000s J-Rock — it’s my favourite kind of Japanese music by far, and it’s such a shame that it totally died out by the year 2010. Here are a few more hits I like from THYME, who did the music for To-Love Ru:

I’ve been trying to find a high-quality download of this chick’s album first 9uality for ages, but to no avail. I hope pop rock, on either side of the Pacific, comes back some day.
Puffy! they are awesome.

I see you're a John Cage fan too!
Haha, just kidding, I have things to say about that guy.

As for real music, this song is always in my rotation. Who are The Bogmen you may ask? A 90s band that never really made it. Don't let that... interesting album cover scare you off, give them a chance!

Gotta sneak some German Industrial EBM music in here. I think they're still around but they haven't done anything since 2016 it seems.

I tried Tony Hawk Remix 2 and got fucked up lotta time at every ramps and I had to quit because I'm draining my aura and embarrassing myself with my Goat album.
Don't ever play if u ain't get the aura.

Just got back from a short drive and both these played on said drive. Don't know much about Fever Ray other than they certainly go hard on looking unique as a musician. x) Squarepusher is the shit though.
