For me it would be either Mayonaka no Door from Miki or Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross (this game's whole ost is really beautiful though).

Cave Story has gotta be one of the greatest games I've played hands down.

Wardruna goes hard in the paint. I love Einar Selvik's stuff.

The Isley Brothers were out there changing music history with their stuff.

And I could keep going, but these are some recent favorites. Simple Man in particular had me breaking down the other week. Shit's rough lately. I'll be alright though long as I have good music lol.

Deftones have always done it for me, I think too many people write them off as just another nu-metal type band without really giving them a chance and listening to their actually beautiful composition and vibe.

Also, been really jamming to Mr.Bungle lately and particularly Pink Cigarette I think could qualify here.

Grandma - Nier Gestalt/Replicant Piano Collection

This song is one of, if not my absolute favourite song ever. This whole album is absolutely gorgeous, but everything that this album is is shown in full colour here. The way the piano is mic'd up is so intimate and delicate. You can hear the pianist depressing the keys down, the thunks of the sustain pedal being squeezed. The way they're able to make that piano cry out in agony makes me so emotional. I absolutely adore this album. (I wish it was on SACD at a higher bitrate....)

As for video games, I have always been a fan of Nubuo Uematsu, Hitoshi Sakimoto and Miki Higashino. But if I have to talk about other Western composers, compositions that have really moved me to tears, I would mention J.S. Bach's St. John Passion oratorio, Handel's Messiah, and many madrigals by Claudio Monteverdi and Gesualdo da Venosa.
