Gamecube What are the best and essential GameCube games?

I don't see it so I'm going to say 1080 Avalanche! Please don't skip that game!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i love avalanche so much, it's so killer. (can you tell by my icon?)

looks like everyone else has suggested a lot of my go-tos, but just to hammer the point home, Cubivore Survival of the Fittest is a really cool game. definitely one of the most unique games for the console, and probably my favorite when it comes to the gamecube. Chibi-Robo is also a super fun and interesting adventure game, i recently 100%ed that one for the first time and had a total blast. a deeper cut is Doshin the Giant, it's Japan and PAL only but there's a patch to make the PAL version run at 60fps. it's kind of hard to follow? like i had a bit of trouble figuring out what you're even supposed to do. but it's still definitely worth checking out, i had a great time with it personally.

Here's every GameCube (and a few Wii games) I have for Dolphin.

I know the characters in this game suck as they're too agressive, but the first animal crossing as the most diverse content that no other animal crossing game has imo.

honestly i really like the more moody villagers, plus a lot of people don't realize this but they do warm up to you over time, you just gotta talk to em a lot. at least, i think they do... still my favorite AC game, so much unique stuff in it :]

So this is a bit more like Stardew Valley than the other animal crossing games and whatnot? I remember that they also be violating your property by changing the exterior of your house to a different color and whatnto

they do NOT do that, last i checked, of course i could very well be wrong but, i dont think they'd let them change your house like that, that may have been a rumor...

If I had to do like an "objective" top 20, it'd probably be:
  1. Super Smash Bros. Melee
  2. Metroid Prime
  3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  4. Pikmin 2
  5. Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
  6. Phantasy Star Online: Episode I & II Plus
  7. Resident Evil
  8. Resident Evil 4
  9. Viewtiful Joe
  10. F-Zero GX
  11. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
  12. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
  13. Animal Crossing
  14. SoulCalibur II
  15. Kirby Air Ride
  16. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
  17. Super Monkey Ball
  18. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
  19. Killer7
  20. Donkey Konga 3

Tales of Symphonia, I don't give a fuck
Play it right now, infact
Get the Gamecube version if you want to see what the hype is about. Don't just stop playing after 5 hours, really get involved in that story.
Then you can decide whether you want to try one of the terrible ports, with all their BS extra content.

So, Gamecube have the best version?
I never played any tales of mainline game ever, tales of symphonia is my first pick of them all. I'll give a try on Gamecube if thats the case.

Well, every other port of Symphonia has terrible flaws that ruin the gameplay, such as the Gamecube being the only version that runs at 60 FPS.. May not sound like a big deal, but in a game where there's real-time fighting, it helps to have a smoother frame rate, so it's not laggy and skipping.

The font in the Gamecube version is better, too. Really there's a ton of tiny little differences, and if you like the game on GC, try a port; I just recommend starting on Gamecube because the overall experience is better.

Other ports feature additional content but lack the presentation and smooth perfection of the Gamecube version. ?

What do you guys think is the best RPG on the GameCube aside from Symphonia because I already played that one.

But for some reason RPG's were extremely rare to see for GameCube where I grew up so I never played any. Fire Emblem looks good.
Paper Mario TTYD.

- mgs twin snakes
- the baten kaitos games
- tales of symphonia
- re4 and re1 remake
- scalibur 2
- luigi's mansion
- ssx tricky
- spiderman 2
- pn03
- tloz: twilight princess
- metroid prime games
- f zero gx
- timespliters 2 and 3
- viewtiful joe
- several splinter cell games
- beyond good and evil
- james bond: everything or nothing
- xiii
- ultimate spiderman
- peter jackson's king kong the game

and the list goes on, gamecube had many lit games

well seeing as it is on like Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows.

I would not say it´s an essential game for the game cube. But if game cube is all you have yes I agree.
No.
The Gamecube version is vastly superior; I said so, along with all the reasons why in an earlier post.

Only reason you'd play a shitty port is if you liked the original enough, otherwise it ain't worth it.

The Need for speed games on gamecube just looked and ran better than ps2 versions imo (maybe that's a bit bias on my part mind)
Double dash was a staple, and the lego star wars games are definitely underrated.
