The Megami Tensei fan translations are good

I think the translators generally did a good job. One has to consider the amount of hacking that goes into these fan projects, such as text limitations and addressing problems with font and whatnot. The sheer dedication to amount to the completion of a full translation of a game is of a sheer, staggering quantity, and this is unpaid work, straight from the decision of those who care enough to make these translations a reality, crossing boundaries beyond languages and regional release.

The fan translation of Mother 3 is truly incredible, better than many official translations/localizations out there.

the fan translations of Planet Laika and Linda Cube created by the translator Cargodin are excellent.
I believe the translator also did "Tomato Adventure" for GBA. It's just as good as "MOTHER 3's" translation. They nailed the humor and cheesy writing.

I remember being really excited when the fully complete translation patch released (alongside the one for the GBC prototype). I love Alphadream's "Mario & Luigi" RPGs, so playing through THE ENTIRETY of the game that predated "Superstar Saga" in English rather than just the first several minutes was like a dream come true.

Actually, the fan translation of Tomato Adventure was done by a different translator.

I suppose I was thinking of the older incomplete patch.🤔
Yes, Tomato, the translator of Mother 3, was originally going to translate Tomato Adventure, but he gave up.

The complete fan translation of Tomato Adventure was done by Unknown W. Brackets, CrazyMLC and DeMille.

Anything that lets me play a Japanese game in English is a great thing in my book.

HOWEVER... It's those really dedicated fans that bring absolutely niche games to international audiences that get my full love and respect. Like, one guy singlehandedly translated Taito's train-driving simulator "Densha de Go!" so it could be enjoyed in the west.

Mad respect.

For me it would be any translation into English language of a game of Japanese origin and also in the Spanish language of a game with the English language of origin (USA or UK) or already translated by the community if it refers to a Japanese game but at least they try.
