What are peoples thoughts on space dandy?

Absolutely love Space Dandy.
I always thought it was basically a parody of Bebop to be honest.
I knew Shinichirō Watanabe was involved, and I saw the influence for sure.
I always thought they just said, "Let's see... what if Cowboy Bebop, FLCL, and The Twilight Zone all had a kid" which is kind of what it felt like to me.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the series, and I really need to rewatch it.
It was far too short, and I think a third season would have been great and would have rounded it out.

Bro think she Neru
I tried "space dandy giving the finger" and all i could find was this... Sad times!

It was fun, but unlike other shows from Watanabe I've watched, it left no impression. I remember watching it and thinking that it looked really good, but it wasn't satisfying. The characters were merely losers that I got to laugh at weekly, but they didn't grow over the episodes to be any more than what they had been at first. The series had no continuity, each episode taking place in its own universe, and that gave me nothing to look forward to. I ain't against self-contained shows, but I like it when the characters have continuity. You could say K-on is like that.

The episodes that left an impression were two: the afterlife episode, and the episode where the maiden blooms. Those I might rewatch at some point.

This season of anime, the only show I am watching is Lazarus. The first anime in a while that's fun in a way that reminds me I have a pulse, and I'm a living person and I'm watching a show. A lot of anime has a dulling effect of boring content on me, but Watanabe is capable of escaping that. I think I'll go watch some of his other stuff I haven't yet.

Definitely check out Terror in Resonance

I like how experimental this series was. I'm a bit more partial towards the first season because they went for humour but some of the second were totally out of this world (especially the Unagi and "a world with no sadness baby" ones), almost like pure art.

Space dandy left an impression on me though I do not remember it much and need to watch it again.
It had just amazing soundtrack. I wish more anime was made like it but of course attention to quality is racing to the bottom of the earth every year. Not everything has to be serious to have an impact though it is harder to be something like Space Dandy and do that, and it would do good to let them have it since I cannot say I have seen anything quite like Space Dandy before it or after. In my mind closest comparison is Red Line and that is not a close comparison at all.
