I just bought a bang & olufsen mx4000 with low software, so I have to take the back panel off in order to short the pin to get the service menu. Over paid wayyyy tooo much. I got it as an upgrade to my small phillips dvd combo tv, gotta say; virtua cop is lit and cant wait to play house of the dead 2 on the gdemu. I used to play mostly emulators on my pc, but after softmodding my 3ds xl, I got really into soft modding and flash carts and stuff. I got a big 60hz flat "4k" which is a lie cus how is it 4k if its only 60hz but I don't know. That's what I use for my pc. Got two old ass laptops, one with windows 10 that runs so bad, should put something like windows xp or 7 on there at some point and a hp dv9000, which I both got for free. The hp actually has a great screen for such an old laptop need to buy a battery for that. Other than that I play a lot of 3ds. Rhythm Tengoku might be my fav game ever. Would love to hear about other peoples stuff. Thanks.

I also put flash cards and ODE mods to the old consoles as well as HDMI adaptor, everything connected to one single 44 inch HDTV so no CRT related feature goodness for me, I'm content with it for now.

I mainly play on an older HP Omen computer with an HP monitor that I think is 27"? I own other consoles and have a CRT and stuff at my dad's house still, but I don't use them, I just mainly play on PC and emulate stuff. Nothing too fancy.

Did you know that bargain bin android phones make for nice handhelds? My old android basically only exists to emulate old vidya stuff.

I SHALL NOT BE DOUBTED

I recently got into the world of retro handhelds and after some time I got my first one: the Anbernic 35xx plus. It's shaped like a game boy color and runs everything up to PS1 perfectly.

You can also connect it to thr TV using a mini HDMI adapter, so whenever I want to play something retro, I pick up that one as my main driver.

That's awesome, I remember that video. Have you had a go with playing any games on it?
Well, it has become my main PC. Which means yes. I have played basically everything from emulators to modern titles on it. Currently I'm trying to play Lies of P. Trying, because I have probably died about a hundred times by now to that stupid Andreus. And I know how to beat him, I just don't.

It runs Arch and disregarding the normal driver issues with Nvidia cards, it works perfectly. It is just a PC. After a while you don't even notice the abnormal noise the fans make.

Wow, thats fucking awesome man, I saw the rest of the video, it plays gta better than my hp desktop with i5-10400f. I have a gtx 1660 super, your one seems better lol.

I use my father's work PC which I inherited after his death. There are several people I know that are younger than this PC lol. It works fine for simple PC games or emulating 5th gen consoles and below.

For classic emulation, the Raspberry Pi is hard to beat. Anything up to PSX-level, as well as PSP and Dreamcast, will play with no problem, thanks to RetroPie. A Pi 5 kit will only cost about $150, and (importantly for me) will only draw 5 watts from the wall.

No, it won't play CyberPunk, or even Crysis. Or anything graphically demanding. One can only do so much with 5 watts.

I currently live off-grid, so low power usage is super important. My entire entertainment setup (display, speakers, Pi, KB/Mouse/Controller, external HDD, and cellphone) uses about 100 watts. With 5400 Wh of energy storage, I could game for two days straight, even if an eclipse were to last that entire time. Meanwhile, my 750-watt PC alone would drain my system in about eight hours. I can use it in the summer, when there's sunlight for 18 hours a day, but not in the winter.

It's a pain in the ASCII, honestly. Constantly having to watch voltage levels, cleaning off the solar panels every time it snows, buying gas for the generator for when there's not enough sunlight...

More expensive than I expected, too. I mean, I knew I'd have to buy the panels, and batteries, and chargers, and inverters, and wiring...but I hadn't considered the cost of heating with propane, which is currently costing me about $100 a week.

In the summer, though, it's not bad at all. I basically never have to use the generator, unless there's several days of overcast. And I use more like $20 a MONTH in propane (cooking and refrigeration).

I never liked winter anyway. Now I REALLY don't like it! XD

Lately, Geforce Now.

Cloud streaming has disappointed me in the past, I tried most of the offerings out there, but Geforce Now has hit a level where it's truly impressive, as long as you remember to juice up the bitrate.

This is all streaming through the cloud from a potato PC:

Impressive!

For games older than GBA minus the 3D home consoles, the Mister and Analogue Pocket. FPGA emulation has brought back my love of retro gaming. I haven't been able to beat Mike Tyson in Punch Out since CRT on an actual NES since FPGA. Way better latency than software for me. Nothing against software emulation (we wouldn't have FPGA without it) but I'm never going back for classic retro pixel gaming. I know about run a head on RA but I don't like gaming on computers.

I dabble in voodo magic to play games.

Of course da pc man its the best platform ever! If unavailable or for whatever reason I can't game on pc or laptop I use this phone im typing on it also the same phone that I emulate every game I played so far.

the guy i bought the tv had a mister, i get really bad yellow with composite with adpater, but rgb scart looks fine, so ordered an rgb cable for my saturn. Phones are awesome for emulation, I like to play psp on them.

In general or roms?
I guess it's a matter of how much effort do I want to go for. I got Steam titles on PC that I also bounce on my Steamdeck, most roms are on the deck too. The Switch occasionally for a marathon and when I really have the time a console since all are packed away and require set up since I conserve space.

Prior to getting a Steam Deck, 100% all on PC, now its kinda swapped to like, 80:20 Deck : PC.

also i've had an rx570 for the past 5 or so years so things actually genuinely perform better on the deck for me lul
