Hello all! recently me and my friends decided to play PS1 games because we like that era of the generation and we wanted to play and discover some new and interesting titles to play. I know that the PS1 is primarily a 2 player console, but there are some games that support up to 4 with the help of the official or maybe unofficial adapter that get plugged in one of the sockets of either P1 or P2 to allow for 4 more players to play so far I only know about racing games like CTR or Crash Bash, but I'm more interested in party-like quirky or (experimental) games and the PS1 has plenty of experimental games which is a thing I like.

in my search I found a series called Bishi Bashi which is basically Warioware before Warioware all these years I thought that Warioware birthed the Micro Mini-Games genre, but apparently Namco and Bishi Bashi were already doing it back in the Arcades era the game is pure Japanese fun and weirdness and I would like to get recommended more unknown and experimental games like it. The language barrier is not an issue at all so please recommend the most obscure games you know of!

blast chamber - 4 players - the video explains it better

If you’re into beat ‘em up why not try Panzer Bandit.
I always love me some good beat 'em up and my first impression is that it looks like a portable Tales of game visually. Definitely will check it out

Honestly I don't know what I'm looking at. The video made things even more complicated but that is surely a weird game I will give you that

Do you love NASCAR? Do you love chaos? Do you love sending Hurricane Irma to your competitor? Are you PURE AMERICAN PATRIOT? Then fear not, NASCAR Rumble can tumble the boredom on your party crash. Although, I don't remember if it can be played by more than 2 players.

If it doesn't have 4P Mode, then try switch it up with Hydro Thunder.

I was going for Crash Team Racing for the second entry, but you know what? Fuck it we go Crash Bash, baby! Play this with the boys and it's going to be free-for-all! It's a party game where your main objective is to ganged up one day, and ruin his night for a week.

Twisted Metal 3/4 or Vigilante 8 (and 8 2nd) would be another good choice, mate. But I'm going to get a lot of hate for even mentioning TW4, so pretend I never said the cursed number.

NOTE: Bishi Bashi was a banger. Unfortunately I refused to play that game now, because I don't want to use 5 years of my DualShock 4/DualSense lifespan for silly game that will cost me whatever the controller price is now.

I figured it out after playing it for a bit
Each player is on a countdown - at zero the player explodes
The white orb goes in each player's colored goal
Kicking the orb into a wall rotates the cube/stage 90°
While holding the orb your timer freezes
Whoever has the most goals wins

Growing up I owned an official Sony multitap peripheral and would bring it over my friends house to play 4-player games during special occasions (Christmas, Birthdays etc.) I'll suggest some of our favorites below:

▪️ Team Buddies - action strategy game, you can create weapons and vehicles that are at your disposal. easily our most played 4-player game that aged surprisingly well.

▪️ Rakugaki Showtime - arena based 'dodge-ball' like fighter developed by Treasure with unique visuals. You can a various of specials moves to perform and many characters to choose from.

▪️ Speed Punks / Speed Freaks - similar to Crash Team Racing is a solid kart racer.

▪️ FoxKids.Com Micro Maniacs Racing / Micro Runner - in the spirt of Micro Machines gameplay presents a unique on-foot racer with an assorted cast each with their own abilities and special moves. this is also a 8-player game that allows you to share (4) controllers to have a total of 8-players at once.

▪️ Poy Poy / Poitters' Point and Poy Poy 2 / Poitter's Point 2: SODOM no Inbo - one of the first multiplayer games I've played on PS1. rudimentary gameplay that becomes addicting, not sure how well they have aged though.

▪️ Noon - unique action puzzle hybrid.
▪️ Devil Dice / XI and XI Sai Jumbo - dice based puzzle game.
▪️ Gekido: Urban Fighters - 3D brawler, beat'em up. main game features a co-up 2-player mode where as the 4-player mode takes place in a small arena.
▪️ Rat Attack! - action game with puzzle elements to dispose the most rodents.
▪️ Bomberman World - classic Bomberman gameplay on PS1.
▪️ Worms Armageddon and Worms World Party - 2D turn based strategy.
▪️ Hogs of War - 3D turn based strategy.
