Tough question, considering i was born before video games existed. After Decades I can honestly say I don't remember, but i do remember my first game. Space Invaders cabinet. 5 cents
I was in preschool so around 3-4 years old. I started with the NES and SNES. My parents even got a game genie to boost my confidence while learning to play.
Either 3 or 4 could pretty much install edutainment titles on the family Win 99 on my own. Couldn't tell you when I started to comprehend what I was doing vs just clicking and hoping for a response.
Probably 4. Between playing old dos games on my grandpa's lap like Commander Keen, Leisure Suit Larry, and Duke Nukem to Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES. And yes they let me play Leisure Suit Larry at that age, I couldn't read or write and just walked around getting beat up in back alley ways :p
I must have been 3 or 4 who knows, its hard for me to remember stuff before my 6, but the consoles certainly were around since before I was born because they belonged to my older brother.
As far back as i can remember, as my parents had a 8bit Atari computer set.
Youngest memories i have are when i was 3-5. Though until i was 10 or so i couldn't read well enough to understand anything i was playing. Then again playing asteroids and pacman, not much you need to know...
I was also going to say 4, like most of you. I don't really have any memories before that, so of course it's technically possible... but by 4-5 I had definitely played Mario and Duck Hunt.
Around 4 years old, a neighbor had a sega genesis and i played sonic 1 and 2 to death on it and those cheesy disney pc games. My mom's friend had a nes and one of those plug and play atari classics things.
One day my mom got a ps2 so i was playing like tekken, dynasty warriors, wwe smackdown by like age 5. Was I good at those games? debatable for a child LOL.
