hmm most of the time my firefox uses 1.6% to 12.4% CPU with 5 tabs and about 1400mb ram.

But would be nice if one could find a non shit browser as basically google owns firefox ass I mean they admitted with out google they be dead.

Even Brave lately has gotten allot of hate collecting user data and being bad security wise. Man we can never have any good things in life :(

I did try Opera GX and I will sa y my good I love it´s customization but as everything else it gets sooooo much hate for everything at this point if you listen to people no just uninstall every browser because they collect data and sell to china.

Most (if not all) browsers nowadays offer the option to import data from other browsers, including favorites, passwords, history, and more. As for which one to use, that's entirely up to you. Go with whatever works best for you.

Seems to work well.

Odd, because I've not encountered that problem TBH. In fact, Chrome is the resource hog for me, especially when it comes to Twitch. Some tabs easily start consuming 1.2 GB out of nowhere and I've seen "glitches" where Instagram takes up like 16 GB just sitting idle unused.

Don't know if that's a reporting issue for the Insta stuff but Chrome's a major resource hog for Twitch (and in some cases, Youtube). Firefox's been a lot less CPU and memory-intensive for that stuff from my experience.

i have to use firefox cause chrome does not block FUCKING ADS ON TWITCH with it's extestions or what ever the fuck they are called. so if this true i may switch maybe but it's not going make me switch no matter what.

Actually you can block Twitch Ads on Chrome if you have Pie installed. Works like a charm for me, tho there were a couple weeks it didn't work cuz Twitch changed how they integrated ads.

I know about the affiliate link controversy with Pie but I don't use those; it's just there to block Twitch ads since for past few months, it's been the best at it by far in my experience.

Oh and actually there's a way to install Pie without installing the affiliate link or rewards point stuff (or if you do, just disable them in Extensions settings).

In addition to Zen, Floorp is another good choice if you aren't into the minimalist interface... thing.

Also I'm using Firefox on a laptop and haven't experienced any high CPU usage. I don't use the tab grouping usually. Control your tab hoarding, people. We have bookmarks, you know.

Isn't Pie made by the same people behind the Honey extension? I certainly wouldn't trust them based on that. If it also has affiliate links and rewards like Honey, given that they were shady and dishonest about that app, they may be with Pie as well.

I've been using DuckDuckGo on my phone and PC lately instead of FireFox. Even DDG has AI bullshit, I just don't use it. I don't doubt that enshittification will come for DDG, if it isn't here already, I'm just unsure of what else to use. Man I can't wait for the AI bubble to burst to hopefully make most of these companies back off and admit it's a terrible investment(among many other problems) not yet ready and not suitable for most industries.

This, pretty much. I use Floorp and it's alright. I keep Ungoogled Chromium only for the occasion that something important I need to do, doesn't work on Firefox.
