Never traumatized myself. Even as a kid.... I found the then uber realistic gore movies kind of comical. I was kind of strange then anyway (and it only got worse as I got older)
i believe that! oh yeah some of them were funny just because of how absurd they were
i was fine with 90% of it, im just scared af of werewolves.. XD
dont tell anyone
I played a whole lot of games that were M-rated
half-life, Doom, quake, duke nukem, mortal kombat, killer instinct, house of the dead, resident evil,
GTA, idk what else but a lot of "M rated" games aren't all that bad. my family just said they're games and said whatever lol.
my mom did NOT like mortal kombat especially the finishers lol.
i mean she thought street fighter was too violent (and i mean SF2 , NOT turbo, LOL!!)
I was more careful about the anime scene, man in the 80s and 90s anime you'd never expect a full boob flash it was just about every anime. a LOT of anime i watched in private for that reason.

My sister, despite her trauma when she was young from the original Resident Evil 1, couldn't really stop herself from heading over to the games section and picking out whichever RE was available at the time when the selection of games sucked. It was funny because from what she said, the staff knew, but she'd just give the game container to my dad and go "this, please".
While I think there's a risk of some trauma from so called M rated games, I also sort of feel like we go a little too far in age restriction these days, but that's probably another sorta thing. (on the flipside, Mortal Kombat's a bit too gross for this horror-loving family, is that weird?)
I had the type of grandparents that didn't care one bit if I played Drakengard at the wee age of 7 or so. I remember being very young when I picked that game up for my PS2.
Maybe that's why I have such a soft spot for that game.
