While I'm sure that there are some people who have alterior motives, I'd argue that you can celebrate both in good faith, at the same time, and that two compliment each other very well. Men who deviate from established gender norms, whether it's because they're LGBTQ+ and/or have mental health issues, get a lot of shit in some circles for not being "manly" enough. We should make it known that it's okay for a man to cry and to love who he loves.

It’s hard to not see bad faith here, but I do agree with you Iyo—regardless of OP’s intent. :-) I hope all the men in the thread are having a peaceful day

Well, like Clippy said the month makes sense considering Father's Day, and it's nothing new. (Certainly gay and trans men count as well, nothing wrong with a couple events overlapping). The whole thread has pretty much been about whether this is in good faith, but as we're lacking any specific reason to doubt that? I'd ask everyone posting going forward to post on topic, please.

That aside I think the idea of both not co-existing is dumb, especially since gay, trans, and bi men exist who would also fit into the mold of needing a men’s mental health month since they’re part of the demographic that gets targeted often.

Ironically, to raise awareness on drunk driving hazards, they started a National Impaired Driving Prevention Month back in the 80's, which takes during December a.k.a. the holiday season; so, I guess you're covered!
