I know that this is a piracy forum, so I imagine the consensus will agree with the post but... I'm personally not bothered by it? It would've been a nice bonus for it to be unencrypted, and it sure didn't stop people for long, but I get why they did it. I think fixing all the bugs before manufacturing physical versions is a smart strategy, and if anything the fact this is a Mega Drive/Genesis game at all is really neat. I'm usually very anti-DRM, so maybe I just didn't consider an offline encrypted ROM as "DRM" persay.

Honestly I'm not put off by the fact that the game's was encrypted in attempt to curb piracy either (especially since some emulated compilations done this too), but I'm glad that he's taking extra measures to ensure that those who are going to buy the upcoming Genesis/Mega Drive version are going to get a polished experience once the wait is over. I'm glad the game turned out as well as it did despite the few hiccups on release, especially in the niche of indie shoot 'em ups. I'm sure a late friend of mine would have enjoyed this game if he was still here. I'm hoping to buy the game on Switch when I can, not only to support more games I enjoy but to give devs like Ancient more love, especially when some assclowns are bitching and moaning over the exA-Arcadia version with one of them having the audacity to tell others to boycott the game on Steam. Jesus Christ, some of these people are entitled...

Well, it's a shmup. The language barrier is no impediment to enjoying this type of games.

It doesn't actually amount to much. It's 10th place at 5,689 copies. Hopefully it keeps selling steadily + overseas as well.
5th place is 50,845 copies, almost 10 times as much.
1st place is 232,250 copies.

Got this added to steam the past week intensely great music and it feels like your playing the mega drive.
