Genesis Welcome back Yuzo Koshiro (Earthion)

Earthion has been developed to run natively on SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive, pushing the original 16-bit hardware to its absolute limit, and includes an original soundtrack from Yuzo Koshiro. Returning to his Koshiro’s 16-bit roots, Earthion features 27 original tracks, alongside an incredible soundscape of effects to transport players back to a golden age of retro gaming. Highly customisable scanline configurations allow players to get an authentic retro experience on modern displays.


Earthion is being created by an all-star team including Makoto Wada (Gotta Protectors, Royal Anapoko Academy) and Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage, ActRaiser). Japanese artist Mitsuhiro Arita, best known for his work illustrating Marvel® Comics and the Pokémon™ Trading Card Game, also lent his hand to two stunning key art pieces for Earthion.

That's great news. No matter how good or bad the game turns out to be, I'm sure the soundtrack will be top notch.

I'm not into shmups but this game is impressive. Gonna check it out when it's released. Can't believe the mega drive can run it! Look at the things a good team with vision and leadership can make without 15 execs ready to bite their necks...

I do like the simpler shmup from that era, like Sol-Deace and Gleylancer in a sea of Bullet Hells.

Man, theres been a lot of schmup news lately, its really nice. I am a bit iffy on LRG being around this one but it is what it is.
Ill be sure to give it a shot!
