To this day I have no idea why this was included in there, but Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator (an otherwise awesome game) had a chance of triggering a parachute failure after ejecting from your doomed plane... And that was great because your pilot ranked up with each mission he survived, making his death all the more punishing. That, I have no problem with.

... But was it really necessary for us to hear his blood-curling, agonizing screams all the way down? Not only was it horrific, but it was also strangely awkward when you got destroyed at a high altitude and just kinda had to observe your guy floating to his death. It could have very well been straight from Gravity Falls:

What about you?

"Ever played 'Super Mario 64 DS' and go 'Y'know, this game is great and all, but I wish it were more difficult and utilized the DS' touchscreen more'?"

No, not that I recall.🤔

"Well, fear not, gamer!"

I mean... I wasn't really "scared" to begin wi–.🤨

"INTRODUCING SECONDARY TOUCH CONTROLS FOR THE MAIN CAMPAIGN!! NOW YOU CAN HAVE A MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TIME TRYING TO COLLECT ALL 150 STARS!!"

In Super Smash Bros Brawl your character has a 1% chance of tripping every time you sprint.
This has to be up there for sure, such a bizarre mechanic.

The stance switch button in various MK's and the Injustice games. I've always heard people say vagaries about it changing frame data on some moves depending on what arm is facing the screen or whatever, but I highly doubt there's any actual thing like that and have never noticed it in any game. I think it's entire purpose is just as a form of teabagging where you spam it in directly in front of someone instead of doing a fatality when you beat them.

In Oblivion, there's a unicorn enemy you find in an isolated grove that will attack you on sight. If you can sneak up behind it without alerting it, you have the option to mount it as if it were a normal steed.

Sounds cool but the problems become clear once you dismount. You can't stable the unicorn, so calling it is impossible, it will slowly walk back to the grove you found it in if left on its own, and finally it will attack any nearby enemies it detects.

Once the enemies are dead, Doom music starts playing in the unicorn's head as it tries to murder everything in its immediate vicinity. Including you.

The original GTA had a button for burping and farting. No real gameplay use.

One of the many versions of Daitona USA (Arcade) had a camera in Tha cabinet that would record your face and put it where the driver's portrait would be.

In the formation select of KOF 2002, if you spin the stick around for a few seconds, your fighters will get dizzy and fall over.

Oh! The poetry button in Interstate Nitro Pack 76.

Why have such a thing? That's the wrong question, my man.
